I had NO IDEA what my grade was basically the whole time because she doesn't use blackboard, semesterbook, etc. and gets mad when you ask her if she can give you some light on your grade.

Shakespeare is great, but Christine Cowan rushes you through 9 plays. I wish we wouldn't have been so pressed for time. Also, returns papers in an untimely matter.

Very nice and understanding lady. Tests were essay based and turned out to be quite easy, I wasnt used to that since I am a science major but grading is kind of lenient. I dont like artsy poetry analysis (which there was quite a bit of) though.

Terrible grading. She shows complete disrespect for her students and picks favorites. Worst experience of my life. Impossible to get an A because she believes no one is good enough. Very stressful and way to much work for an english class.AVOID!!

she grades papers really hard and is very reluctant to give an A to anyone because there is always "room for improvement." she is really nice and i really liked her but i wanted an A and didnt think it would be that challenging and it was.

She is really nice and easy to talk to but THERE IS NO WAY TO GET AN A!! If you are satisfied with a B or C then take her but if not don't waste your time. She believes an A is perfect and that everyone can always improve. Work is easy though.

Mrs. Cowan cares about her students, has a great love of teaching, and is passionate about the subjects she teaches. Do not go into this class expecting to get something for nothing.

She is nice, but she doesn't believe in giving A's because every student needs improvement she claims. You have to go to class.

Mrs. Cowan is one of the best teachers I have had at LSU. She makes Shakespeare very interesting. She gives you exactly what is one the midterm and final in the notes. Plus, she gives you lots of opportunities for bonu points.

Mrs. Cowan is fabulous. She is always prepared, presents the material clearly, and is incredibly enthusiastic. If you take good notes and don't wait til the last minute to study/write papers you have no reason not to get an A or B.
