DELAUNE L (ACCT)

I took this class in the summer 2011 session. This is obviously a difficult class that you have to take. From what i have heard the teachers during the fall/spring can be pretty rough. Delaune taught the first half the class and Chenier the second half. They both know what they are talking about. The class is structured around the notes they post on moodle. They use example problems to hammer in the material. The exams where very difficult. We had 2 and then the final. Avg on the first was 70 no curve. They didnt say what the 2nd one was. You have to study you ass off by reading the book and doing practice problems at the end of the chapter. I did that and managed to make a 91, 91 and 82 respectively on the tests. Overall i would recommend this class in the summer because of the teachers and the class structure. Grades will be bad but you know that going in.

You have to go to class because her notes are very helpful. There are alot of quizes in class and homework every week. It is a very time consuming class but it wasn't boring. Take Delaune!!!

She was a great teacher! She was nice and kept the class interesting. The course needs hard work. The tests are kinda hard.

Great teacher, class isn't as bad as the other acct classes. took it in the summer and honestly it was a breeze. she explains stuff well and as long as you go to class and read the notes, you'll be fine on tests.

Cares about her students and is very fair

Great teacher, departmental tests and homeworks but she prepares you well. In class quizzes are usually group quizzes. Final cumulative is kinda tough but there shouldn't be many suprises on it

all tests are departmentalized and done over the computer, they are very hard, and try to trick you

The second exam killed me. The first was fine, and the final was fine after the curve. Delaune was really nice. She gives group quizzes and she made the class more interesting than accounting was seem to be.

Prof. Delaune makes this class awesome. She is a very good teacher. Take her!

Accounting isn't that impossible if you just sit down for a couple hours each week and make sure you understand everything, because if you get behind on one thing, you will be behind the whole semester. DeLaune was great though!!!

Shes easy to understand and a good teacher but accounting is boring and she didnt have much of a personality. The FINAL IS IMPOSSIBLE and it dropped me from an A to a low B so dont underestimate the final. Do the practice problems. Take Delaune.

Great laid back teacher, found the class easy but some may find accounting dry, have to have for business major anyway

There's not much point to the class, all she does is go over notes, she doesnt really teach anything. Also, some of the homework is really hard and she doesnt go over the answers afterward

Accouting gets pretty hard towards the end. Exams are departmental so instructer doesnt really matter. Delaune didnt really have a personality. Dont take ACCT if you dont have to!

Very nice woman and overall a good teacher. Easy to understand.

She is a great and fair teacher and makes this course as pleasant as possible.

Dr. Delaune is the best for this class; she cares about her students, and some of the averages on our tests were B's- unheard of in this class!

i loved this teacher! she was so sweet! the tests are computerized which i didnt like so much but she gave quizes all the time which pulled my grade up a lot! final is curved big time!

This was my third semester with Dr. Delaune... and my third A in accounting. The class is hard; pay attention and always go to class! Delaune really good at explaining the material, whereas the book is very confusing!

This class is very difficult and requires a teacher who is well-organized and completely reviews all possible test material. For this reason, take Delaune.

Delaune is methodical and thorough. She is an expert on accounting and makes an otherwise dry subject fun.

DeLaune is a very nice lady...BUT ACCT 2001 is impossible! Get ready for ridiculously hard computerized tests!

She's a good teacher, but the material is oh so boring. Go to class and do the recommened problems, the computer tests are real easy if you've gone to class and read over the material.

nice lady, easy class

I recommend her for the class merely because she is the best option. I had her for 2001 and loved her, but she became rather uppity after getting her PHd. Makes lame Accounting jokes sometimes, too. And I almost had an A and had to go screw it up.

DeLaune is the best teacher to get for this class. She made it interesting and related everything to things you can understand! if you have to take this class, take her!

DeLaune is an awesome teacher. All of the information is very thouroughly explained. There are several projects during the course that aren't worth nearly enough points for the effort, but the course is fairly interesting.

Delaune was an awesome teacher, broke the material down in an understandable manner, and made the hour and a half hell pretty bearable. Accounting sucks, but it wasn't too bad with her. I felt very prepared for the tests.

If you take it in the Summer it is the worst!!! Very fast, very long class 2 and half hours Not recommended

Great Teacher, a stickler for rules, but is a GREAT overall teacher!

All of these acct classes are departmental, so the tests are hard and the projects take forever and there's no bonus, but Delaune is a really good teacher, she explains things REALLY well and her sections always get the highest grades. Take her!

She is a good teacher, but the class sucks (that's accounting for you). She tried to help you learn this dry material.

I like the teacher a lot. But watch out, on exams there are random definition questions. Tests are EXTREMELY difficult.

It was a req, but she made it bearable. If you have to have it, take her.

I dont know if anyone can prepare you for the new accounting that is harder than past ones

I took Delaune in the summer and she was excellent! Hardly any work required in this class and an easy A. Delaune is very nice and caring about her students. Take her! She's GREAT!!!

SHE IS AWESOME! Very friendly and down to earth. ACCT is not the most interesting stuff, but she makes it 100 times better! A pleasant experience altogether.
