WHITEHEAD K (CMST)

This class was an adventure for me. I went in thinking it would be easy but it ended up being very difficult. The class is set up with 4 test, drops one, 10 quizzes, and research participation. The quizzes were giving by the TA and sucked ass. I never made higher than a 70 on them. They were fill in the blank/ short answer. The tests were tricky and had bad questions she admitted to after you took it. She was a decent teacher but the questions didn't reflect what she taught. The only reason i took her was because the other teacher available had really bad reviews. Whitehead is basically the lesser of two evils if you have to 2010. I wished i took 2061 or 1060. I made an A but it was too time consuming.

The class in itself is difficult. There is a lot of information and you NEED to read the book if you want to get an A. Whitehead makes the class a lot of fun and interesting. She brings in personal stories that helps you understand the material. If you need to take a CMST class take 2010 with Whitehead, but don't think she is going to give you the A.

She is extremely unorganized. She is late to almost every class. She takes forever to post grades. You have to ask her to post things on moodle over and over because she always forgets. She said that she was "going through a lot" this semester but friends that took her in the past tell me that she has always been unorganized like this. She has no ratio of book material and notes material on her tests so you never know how to study. Overall she is a nice lady who does not need to be teaching such a large class size because she doesn't seem to have the time for it.

This class was very interesting and Kate definately new what she was talking about and was interested in teaching the material. GO TO CLASS. She gives random quizzes throughout the semester which are an awesome grade booster, she also drops two of them. Kate is extremely scatter-brained she never starts class on time and she takes FOREVER to post your grades, even though the tests are taken in the testing center. She usually curves the test grades.

Prof Whitehead is the easiest professor. She's not too good at getting assignments back to you with a grade on them, but she's super lenient and really wants you to do well. Easy A if you just follow her guidelines for the 4 speeches. Midterm and Final were take-home tests.

Awesome teacher and really nice. She can go a little off topic sometimes, but her stories are cute! It is also really interesting material, I learned a lot. And yes, she is the type to raise your grade if you're borderline!

The class was interesting and informative, but the 2 exams we took in computer based testing both had glitches that resulted in lower grades. Everyone did better on the one exam we had to have in class.

Whitehead is a very nice and energetic teacher but watch out on test because she says they will be easy but the computer based tests are tricky. You need the book now but I think she is much better than some ot the other teachers

Whitehead is very forgetful at times, but she means well. Class is interesting; several pop quizzes, but they're easy if you stayed paid kind of attention. Just don't expect to get notes or grades posted when she says she will.

If the class was titled "Kate Whitehead's Life 2010" I would have aced it. She lectures mostly about her personal life and her tests are subjective and ambiguous. A nice lady, very disorganized. Always has an excuse for why she didn't post grades.

She doesn't care about this class. Cancelled test at last minute, answers cell phone during class, TA teaches alot of classes. Grades never posted in timely manner. Tests are weird - most info from book/notes but some questions worded awkward.

The class is very interesting; however, the exams can be tricky. Be sure to read the book.

Men beware but this class doesnt attack us too much. You will understand challenges men and women face in life. A= Read all reqd. reading;about 1.5 hrs/week. About 5 papers. Overall not difficult but was most challanging/informative CMST class4me

Interesting class and Kate is a great instructor! The only things that bothered me were that the class tended to go off topic alot and it took FOREVER to get grades back. I still recommend Kate though!

BEST CLASS I'VE EVER TAKEN!!!!! It takes forever to get your grades back but the class is extrememly easy!

easy A! very nice...tests are essay but grades very easy...the only bad thing about this teacher is that she took FOREVER to post grades (like a month) but otherwise great teacher. class is interesting so the essay tests are pretty much common sense

Kate is great at giving examples and her tests relfect the lectures.

Kate was very friendly with a great personality. She is a very fair grader and makes the material very interesting. If you take 2010 definately take Whitehead. Go to class, take notes and you should get an A easily.

Pretty easy class! Mrs. Whitehead is really nice. She talks a lot and completely changed the final exam format about 3 days before it, but overall she is a sweetheart. Don't expect to EVER get your grades back though!

Kate is a good teacher, exams fairly easy, no surprises, all questions based on lecture notes. Learned a lot and not very much work required.

Mrs. Whitehead is a very friendly person and will explain the material until you are comfortable. Read the book and take notes when she reviews for the test.

I loved this class it was very interesting. Kate is a great teacher was horrible on getting grades back. We didn't get our grades from one test until a couple days b4 the next one!!

Easy class. Somewhat interesting. A couple of small outside projects. Tests are easy, and Kate holds review sessions before them. She's a sweetheart who's really interested in the material and makes the class fun whenever the topic allows. EasyA

Oh good ole Kate. She's so funny... this class was fun. you get to know people pretty well.

If you are looking for a fun class with a great teacher, take CMST 2010 with Kate. She is fun, interesting, easy, and she makes you want to come to class everyday. She doesnt really give homework either!

Great teacher, extremely smart, KNOWS HER MATERIAL, definately take this class!

Is not very knowledgable concerning the material she is supposed to be teaching. Takes forever to grade assignments (proabably bc she is the only one in the department who doesn't give multiple choice tests.) Also very stuck-up. Take anyone else.

She is a great teacher, nice as can be. She will help you and make sure you do well. She takes role on presentation days, and you get credit for it, so be there.

Mrs. Whitehead has an awesome personality and is very understanding towards the students. Take Mrs. Whitehead if you're taking CMST.

Kate is really nice but NOT at all prompt with grading. The class is interesting and easy.

OMG Kate rocks! She's so personal and cares about you. she's very off the wall and just funnny! We smoked a cig before class everyday! She's goin to icon with me too haha
