Current techniques used to genetically engineer microorganisms, study gene expression and DNA modification, and identify organisms by specific genetic alleles; computer analysis of DNA and protein sequences.

This was the most rewarding class I have taken at LSU. It requires a lot of work(!) but the benefit at the end totally outweighs it. As for Dr. Achberger, best professor at LSU in my opinion. He has a great personality and really wants to see his students succeed. And as long as you show up, participate, and complete all the assignments you pass!

Achberger is a great teacher. He's laid back, explains everything well, and knows his stuff. Spend time on the lab reports and go to the labs and you will have everything you need to do well on the exams.

Fun!! Take this before BIOL 4385 and you won't think that class is a big deal. Great Class!
