He is one of the best teachers I've had at LSU. He takes subject matter that could be boring and makes it interesting. If you put forth the effort to learn he will help you. Don't beg for points though, he doesn't like that and will most likely decide to help you out with a few points if you're close to the next grade without you asking.

Professor Slack is a little less dramatic version of Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde. Sometimes he's really nice and cracks jokes, other times he gets irritated when people walk out of the classroom to use the restroom. His tests are somewhat tricky, and when asked about them he gets really defensive. If you have an 89.4 in this class, he WILL NOT help you out. Try taking someone else before you sign on with Slack.

O'Neil was great! Classes are just him lecturing & providing an outline on the board. It would be impossible for you to miss anything he says because you can always ask him to repeat something. Bring laptop the class before test because he gives a review of topics that will be on tests and goes fast. Tests are exactly what he says in review. Opportunity for about 5 extra credit points for going to class.

He wasn't terrible. He lets you have a cheat sheet on the test but only a single piece of paper and how many words you can fit on that one sheet. Don't make an 89.7 final grade because that gets you a B in the class. Even if you got all of the surprise quiz grades.

He says he is hard, especially for bio majors. This is false. Very easy A. He is a funny man. His test are not hard. You can have a cheat sheet for the test! and lowest grade for test is only 10% and other three are 30% each of final grade. he also does extra points on random days. doesn't like if someone leaves early though. Take him!

SOCL in itself is extremely interesting, but Kamo ruins it. He lets you use a "cheat sheet" for the tests, but he puts random questions on the tests that were never in the notes. When I walked into class he said the average grade in the semester before was a 74 and he wanted it to be a 72. If you are looking for a SOCL class, do not take Kamo.

Kamo is cool and entertaining. He will call you out of if he sees you on your phone during class so watch out. He lets you have a cheat sheet for each test which is nice. You do have to work and making a cheat sheet takes a while but its how you study for the tests. He's fair and loves football. I would recommend him!

Laurie was a great teacher. She made the classes fun and she was willing to help any students who needed it. Coming to class is very helpful to your grade, her notes are only given in class, so its good to have a buddy you can get them from. As long as you come to class and study you should get an A.

Dr. Kamo may be hard to understand if you haven't heard people with Japanese accents. The main tips for this class are: GO TO CLASS AND TAKE GOOD NOTES!!!!!!!!!!! The test questions come straight from the notes and examples he gives. I know now that it helps to read the chapters in the book before going to class; it makes it easier to understand the material, and you won't end up reading it at the last minute. I say Dr. Kamo is a good choice for SOCL 2001.

Easy class. Notes are on Noteswap and he tells you everything that is on the test the class before. He gives around 5-6 bonus opportunities. They don't seem like much but I got all of them and they pulled my grade from a B to an A.

So easy!! It's easy to keep up with his lectures by just handwriting the notes. Go to every class because he gives out random extra credit (Syllabus said 5 points, but he gave 7.). Class before the test he gives a review so bring your laptop or it's hard to keep up.

This class was super easy, just beware of random questions on tests, like who is the author of the textbook (What!?). Otherwise, Kamo is relatively easy to understand and gives quizzes for bonus during class. On your cheat sheets, don't just put definitions! Include the examples he uses in class, because those are the test questions.

I loved this teacher! He is probably my favorite teacher I've ever had. He's so funny and adorable :) .. And his tests come straight from the lecture and are mostly common sense. I honestly looked forward to this class every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

I have this class three times a week and only have gone 4 times this whole semester. Notes not posted on line, but easily accessible from noteswap.com. Going to class in very unnecessary, except for the like 4 bonus points that he will give periodically. Incredibly dull and boring, but very easy & not very time-consuming. Study the night before the test and you will easily pass.

He is AWESOME. He shows youtube videos just about every class that relate to the class discussion. You could be tested on some of them, but they are fun videos. You have to study for the tests. I recommend him to anyone. He's young and really cool. He curses alot, but in a good way. TAKEEE HIM! and you will want to go to class.

Slack is GREAT! He’s a happy-go-luck guy, young, and absolutely full of energy, which is a big change from the usually boring teachers. He's always making sure everybody understands the concepts he's teaching, answers any questions you've got, and tries his best to get you to interact. It's obvious he's the kind of teacher that loves what he does and tries to get you to like the material too. His exams are easy as long as you know and understand the major concepts he teaches and that you read the book.

Easiest class ever. He doesn't always talk clearly, so sit in the front row. As long as you take notes from his lecture, you're good. You don't need to read the book. The material is easy, and I always made an A even though I studied 2 hours before the test. He gives bonus too. You learn lots too.

Class is very straightforward. Test questions come right from the notes. Oneil's lectures, as far as i know, haven't changed in the past 5 years. They're quite boring and it's hard to follow him when he's talking sometimes. There is no clear outline presented and he just talks in class so you're a bit on your own as far as organization goes, but it's an easy memorize and make an A class. Oneil is super boring. I never went to class, and used noteswap.com to download notes posted by previous students. They always helped me on the tests.

Gremillion did a good job of keeping the class interesting. He gave lots of assignments and lots of chances for bonus to bring up your grade. The material is easy and I barely had to spend any time outside of class preparing.

Overall this class was interesting. Professor Kamo may be hard to understand at times but he is a good teacher. There is a lot of note taking during lectures. The best part is, you are allowed a cheat sheet on ALL exams.

Shrum's easy. His tests aren't hard, they just have some BS questions on it. He grades on a bell curve, so it's about doing better than everyone else. Sometimes interesting, mostly not. Gives bonus points. Heard wilkinson was better.

The night class was veryyy long & boring. You'll be there the full three hours. He always gives bonus point opportunities & you only have three exams with no cumalative final. His tests are 50 points graded by a "standard curve." Take him.

Not an easy A, but a good teacher. He gave me a B when I was supposed to get a C. DONT wait until the night before to study. It's way too much info to memorize. Tests reflect notes and 5 chapters for each test. Gives easy extra credits in class!

Mecom is really funny. She is very entertaining, but sometimes goofs off too much and simply wastes time. She can't really answer questions...she usually never knows the answer. Take her for an entertaining and easy grade.

Mecom is crazy. She cancells class a few times and lets you out early almost everyday. She knows her stuff but sometimes acts like shes trying to be 'cool' with the college students. Some ppl liked it but it didnt impress me.

TAAAKE HER!! Esiest A I've ever gotten. Only had two tests because she cancels class ALL the time and then canceled third test.. gives TONS of bonus and then adds more to your final grade. She added four to ours and six to each of our tests!

Slack is an ultra-liberal and will tell you all about his political views that are not related to the class. He does post notes online and that is all you need to do well in the class. Going to class is pretty terrible though.

Kamo lets you use a "cheat sheet" for every test. You can put whatever you want on an entire piece of paper back and front. His tests were VERY hard though... the cheat sheets saved my life in SOCL!

Take this class & take Ms. Dumais. She's so easy. Notes on the internet & no reason to go to class. Review your notes and the chapter before the test and you'll get an A, & she takes random attendance for bonus points if you do go.

he's definatly not an easy A. his tests are hard and you have to go to class. i got two C's on my first tests (74 and 72) and an 86 on the final and wound up with a B. there are easier teachers out there but pedriana's lectures are great
