Prof. Lax is a great teacher, he really wants you to learn and you can ask dumb questions. Maple TA can be a pain, but homeworks will be a lifesaver cuz you can practice as much as you want, lab teacher are great help too!.

Not a very good teacher due to his speech and the class size! Math should never be taught with 600+ students! Highly not recommended!

DO NOT TAKE 1022. The classes are huge and all of the test and homework are done on computer and half of the time the computer system is down. If you can, take 1023.

Dr. Lax is soooooooo BORING. It does no good to even go to class. You will learn more is you teach it to yourself like I did. Trust me, he stutters!!

DO NOT take Dr. Lax! All who take Math 1022 are divided into two big sections for lab-get the other teacher! When I went to class I couldn't learn anything b/c he stutters and is a bad teacher. And this is on behalf of all my friends who took him.

Lax is a nice guy, but don't expect him to cut you any slack. You get what you get in his class. The exams aren't really hard just tricky sometimes. I couldn't get above a 78 on the exams or final, but others made 90 and above.

first off, the class is too large to learn math. second of all, dr. lax doesnt teach, ALL HE DOES IS GO OVER POWERPOINT well click click click on them THATS IT! third, the tests are hard becuz u dun get partial credit. overall 1022 suckss

This class, and Lax, will make you not want to bother waking up for. He is good at presenting the material, unfortuanly he and the material are both very dry. Go to class, do the homework, study old test, and you get an A.

He's a really good teacher to have if you have taken previous calculus classes and he teaches a concept and then gives plenty of examples.
