Dr. Pirbhai was, overall, a nice guy. However, the way he does lectures is completely boring. No powerpoints or slides, or anything at all to make the material interesting. His lectures are just him droning on for an hour and a half. Secondly, if one doesn't remember exact dates on the test (for example, 292-354 BC), he will mark you down a letter grade. It doesn't matter the depth of your detail or if you say the century or the period. I disliked this class with a passion, and for a survey course, it is a joke. My recommendation is do not take it.

Pirbhai is great! I learned a lot in this class. There are only two exams and one 10 page research paper. This stuff wasn't too tough. You only really need to read the course reader and go to class. I didn't read the other stuff and got an A!
