I really did enjoy MATH 1100 with Dr. Perlis. Somedays he reviews homework just as much as he teaches, which isn't bad for some people. Tolerable material and really cool teacher.

Dr. Perlis was very nice but didn't teach efficiently. His lectures are on powerpoint and are on moodle so its almost easier to teach yourself. His tests were extremely difficult and were cumulative. He takes clicker tests daily so be in class.

This is the most pointless class EVER! You think it's easy but it's really not. I am not sure why LSU makes us take this class because it is absolutely pointless. And this teacher is HORRIBLE. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!

easiest class you will ever take at LSU. perlis is nice and shows concern for his students. no math lab, but there is a quiz in class everyday. EASY A!

strange guy but is very kind and cares about students doing well. must go to every class for clicker tests but VERYYY boring class. he puts the notes online...so it is much to easier to just teach the material to yourself.

There is a lot of material. Perlis tries to make it painless and to help you do well. He takes up one assignment a week, but he has a bad habit of "just finishing this one thing that takes 5-7 minutes" when it's time to end class.

The content of the course is so boring, but Dr. Perlis made it easy and pleasant. He really knows to teach. Take him if you don't have problems with memorizing definitions and methods of solving problems. Previous exams are repeted in the next ones.

This class is so easy. He puts the slides online, which saved me b/c I got to teach myself--I didn't learn anything in the lectures. You have to go to class to get the quiz points. Daily homeworks on Blackboard. Quirky guy but easy A.

this is the EASIEST math class you will ever take! no algebra skills needed! if you need any old math class, then take this one. easy A! especially with Perlis as your teacher!! he's funny and easy but doesnt make sense most of the time. i loved him!

Dr. Perlis is kinda Clumsey at times, but he's Really Nice and Really Caring. He really tries to get students Involved, even in a class with over 500 students. Dr. Perlis explains the math material in an understandable way. Test are pretty easy too!

Perlis is a great teacher. Explained everything well, gave plenty of quizzes to prepare you for tests (but only kept the top 10 quizzes for your grade), tested on the material he taught, and always kept his office door open if you needed help.

Perlis is a great teacher and wants all his students to learn. But beware, you're going to have to know way too many definitions and theorems. Take normal Calc, this Calc is not at all like AP High school Calculus be ready to learn everything again.

He gives at least 25 quizes and only counts the top 10, but he grades them rediculolusly hard. This class should be titled "calculus definitions and concepts." He takes off points for missed commas. It's absolutely rediculous.

HE's hard to get used to, but he will try anything to get you to understand it. He jsut teaches at a fast past. If you get your ten 10/10 quiz gades it will help you soo much! Always be ready for a quiz!
