The class is horrible, but not as horrible as James Catano. Instead of teaching the material of which he knows nothing about, he ridicules the students to make them feel as miserable as he obviously feels about himself. Do NOT waste your time!!!!

He is not clear in what he wants. You pretty much start out the course, hoping at most for a B. This was my first in English - not meaning I dont deserve it - just that is was relatively predetermined.

This class sucked- Catano is so hard to understand- he cannot get down to his students level- after a whole semester of interpreting discourse I still don't know how to interpret it or even what discourse is!

Catano loves to make you read his mind. He is so ambiguous when giving an assignment. He loves to make students feel inferior. His class, Interpreting discourse uses video camera projects, which is cool if you even know what the assignment is.

DO NOT TAKE CATANO OR THIS CLASS. Nothing was relevant to the English language. Instead, Catano uses this course as a springboard for women and genders study issues. Obscure terms only subjectable to this class were provided and explained POORLY.

The teacher was easy to get along with, but the class was pointless. Nothing you learn will ever be used for anything ever again. However, if you can BS your papers, you can pass easily.

Approaching the end of the semester, I still don't entirely understand what the heck we were supposed to learn in this course. The teacher was cool, but avoid this class unless you are a good, i mean REALLY good, Bullsh*ter
