You may get annoyed by Delyser, but you'll appreciate her later. It's a super easy class and the test come straight from her lecture and the simple chapters in the book. It's like being in a highschool class where you actually learn interesting things. She shares lecture with her TA- Paul Watts, who was a baller. Take it, you won't regret it. Easy Peasy A.

I didn't have the book, crammed instead of actually studying and it was still pretty easy to pass with a C, definitely could get a higher grade if you put in more effort...tests were not too difficult but definitely plan on studying. Study guides were helpful, know everything on the maps, class is boring but don't miss it! Overall it was okay.

Overall a good class. The student teacher Paul Watts was wayyyyy better at teaching (in my opinion) than the actual teacher because he relates to students. He teaches about a third of the time. The tests are fairly easy if you STUDYYY. My advice would be to studyy more than just the night before the test. You dont really have to read the book. They give study guides so make sure you do them. NO CURVES or EXTRA CREDIT :( Delyser is very interesting and has been to most of the places talked about in class. Ohhh after the first test, there will be a map section on every test which calls for extra study time....I WOULD RECOMMEND!

The class was pretty easy. Dr. Delyser was sooo boring, though. She tries to be funny but she's really not. She just talks for the full 90 minutes, repeats herself a lot. It's a struggle to pay attention. Definitely do not miss class, or you will be lost for the test. Reading the book helps too. The best classes were when Paul, the TA lectured.

This class was not worth it. Take another course for your social science general education credit. I got a B, but i had to put way too much time into it. Tests are not very hard, but they are only five of them, so you can't mess any of them up. Also, no bonus or curving. Delyser is the only professor and she, to say the least, is very unimpressive. She just talks in front of the class.... no powerpoint. It's the 21st century, a little modern technology would have gone a long way for her.

She's a great teacher but her tests are HARD! She's very smart and her tests are worded tricky. I studied my butt off and still got a C! You also take notes the whole hour and a half of class, nonstop.

You have to study a lot for this class.

Geography is cool in itself, but Dr, Delyser brought something very uniqueto the table. She was an AMAZING teacher and I would definatly recommend taking here if you get the chance

Delyser has to be the coolest teacher at LSU. She makes classtime fun and interesting. However, be prepared to write notes for the entire time.

Dr. Delyser was an awesome teacher! She is really passionate about this subject and she knows a lot about it. She's kooky but it makes things interesting. I think if I would have had anyone else for this class it would not have been as fun.

if you get to know her out of class you will love her. she is so interesting. she knows what she is talking about because she has been to many of the places she talks about. the class is easy and interesting.

She's a good teacher, however she does not make her test. Her TA does and he sometimes asked questions that were not in the material are lectures.

ZZZZZZZ, she is so freaking weird, listening to her made me want to drill into my skull after just a few minutes.

She teaches the class like it is a 3000 level. If you want an easy A, do not take her.

She was a great teacher. She kept the class as interesting as possible...brought in lots of guest speakers, showed slides of her own experiences, and we got to listen to some cool music from diff. cultures...even bust a move if you were feelin' it.

Lectures are interesting and she's a very nice lady. She barely curves and doesn't drop any tests, so beware, but it's otherwise a B with little effort.

Really interesting class - DeLyser was very passionate about the topics! The lectures are important, but if you understand the material you'll do just fine.

Dr. DeLyser is an outstanding professor who makes the course as intriguing as it should be. She is great to talk with after class and is always available and willing to help students.

Get ready to write! Dr. Delyser is amazing and whitty but gives a lot of notes. Her tests require little studying, if you don't miss class. If the weather is nice, she'll let you out early. No homework. Extra credit for going to class.

She was a character-very interesting/humorous. Review sessions helped. there were bonus opportunities alot. she is willing help outside of class.

Dr. Delyser was more than willing to help her students earn an A in the class; she even went so far as to go out of her way to hold night reviews that recapped nearly every IMPORTANT detail discussed in class. Definitely a great teacher.

this class was alot of work!!! i must say though, i throughly enjoyed the class. you do write for the total time of the class period but majority of the topics she talked about were very interesting. I would defintely recommend this teacher!!

Her tests have trick questions, you have to thouroughly undestand the material, but she is redundant with most things so at least if you try you will get a B.

Dr. Delyser is pretty good, bad thing is the exams have little to do with the lectures, they come from the book, if you use the study guide posted, you'll be ok, otherwise the lectures won't do much, going to class may get you bonus points.

You HAVE to study for this class. Dr. Delyser is a nice woman who has been to many of the places discussed in class, as you can tell in her passionate descriptions. You need to go to this class, because lectures are most of the tests.

Not enough good things can be said about Dr. Delyser. I look forward to going to her class. TAs are awesome. Very orgainized and quick with grading. Class is huge (mine had over 700) but she really wants everyone to do well.

Dr. Delylser is awesome; her lectures are great and she knows a lot because she's traveled all over the world. Also, her tests are not bad; you have to study, but all the information is laid out for you in study guides. Take her!!

She is by far the coolest teacher at LSU. I did not take this class until I was a senior and it is in this class I finally found my first awesome teacher. She really cares that you do well. Be prepared to take a lot of notes.

if you have to take any Geog, take 1001 with Dr. Delyser. She makes the class interesting and fun. But beware of the notes; you'll take a lot of them. She's a really fun teacher and i would definitely recommend you take her if you need this class!

Delyser was a great professor with an amazing personality. There are book tests and 4 map quizzes. Her lectures are very long, so get ready to write. Most material for tests come from lectures, however I wouldn't recommend not reading the book also.

Great Teacher, Study guides reflect tests almost exactly. Just go to class, take notes, and study the day before the test. Easy A.

Dr. Delyser is very good. Bad stuff: ALOT of NOTES, get ready to write; Good stuff: the note are pretty much the test, and she gives numerous extra points. Map quizes are quite easy, too.

Waste of time class. Teacher knows very little. Everything said is common sense. I took perhaps 8 pages of notes the entire semester. Learned 15 minutes of material in 50 hours in class.

I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS....SHE IS THE BEST TEACHER AT LSU...IF YOU DON'T TAKE HER YOU ARE CRAZY!! CLASS IS FUN AND INTERESTING...REALLY!!!!!!

She's awesome! She taught the Europe part of Dr. Davidson's 3hr class in Spring 2001. She's really interesting and she's lived just about everywhere she teaches about!

Most of the time the lecture was good. She makes class exciting by being flamboyent. It's a HUGE class so she doesn't miss you if you cut class.
