Professor Smith is a great guy and is willing to help you out if you seek it. With that said, I performed terribly in his class because his lectures put me to sleep. The lectures tend not to be informative as they are basically what is in his notes packet. He also does not give homework, or that many practice problems. As a result, you have to study yourself and basically read the notes and understand everything yourself by spending many quality hours with the book. He curves his test and class very heavily so that is pretty good. However, other classes had almost the same difficulty of exams so I don't see why a curve for his class is necessary but I am not complaining about it. He drops one exam out of four and the final is worth 40% of your grade. The final is very similar to previous exams and some questions are the same with slight variations.

Smith has a British accent, and he talks fast. He also has his cute little qwirks. He's nice, and he knows his stuff, but sometimes it's hard to follow him. (A lot of ppl sleep in his class) He's easy to talk to, and he's helpful in office hrs.
You have to look back at your textbook for a lot of stuff, but the notes will tell you what page.
He grades on a curve, so that the top 30% get an A. If you're in an honors class, that means if you have an 88% or higher, you get an A. The grading scale is more lax in nonhonors courses.

the subject is tough but easier than organic 1; also Smith's tests can be a little hard but he curves a lot and is really willing to see you if you have questions about anything.

Of course if anyone's taking this class, it's because they HAVE to. Basically, organic chem sucks and is completely impossible for me. I had Crowe for the first one and learned nothing. Smith was much better with his teaching skills, I suggest him.

Smith was an all around great teacher who really cared about students learning. He grades on a true curve so that's nice. He's willing to help students always! Take him if you can. Tests can be hard, but curve more than makes up for that.

Smith is very willing to help if you go to him during office hours but unless you do, you wont know what will be on the test. grading scale ridiculously easy (75-100= A in my class) to compensate for poor prep for the test. prob not good mcat prep.

Hard class and tests are in depth. I had to read the book, it helps alot. Practice tests are off from real ones, but excellent review. To do well, you must take the time to learn the rxns. Curves so top 20%=A

He's a good teacher, posts his notes online and gives practice exams before the tests that are very similar to the real test. Curves big time at the end of the semester!
