ROIDER K (HIST)

For a history class this class wasn't bad. Dr. Roider is a great history teacher. He does a great job lecturing and making sure students understand the material. He is very friendly and available for outside help. He posts all his lectures on Moodle and you just have to follow and add notes in class. There is no book for the course however you must purchase outside reading books to go along with the lecture material. These can be somewhat time consuming. BE SURE TO GET THESE AHEAD OF TIME because some of them aren't readily available in bookstores. He has 4 essay exams and those are the only points, however, he does drop your lowest exam grade (besides final). If you think you can handle a history course then take Dr. Roider because he is one of the best!

rioders the best, but this half of western civ is a little dull. the grading all depends on the TA. all essay and have to read a few books.

Really interesting class. Karl Roider is interesting and makes the lectures easy to follow. You must go to class and take notes.

This class is definitely not a give me, but also very easy to obtain an A just by attending class and studying a good bit. Tests are all essay and are the only things that make up your grade. Roider is great!

Roider was an awesome teacher and made it fun, but the tests were crazy. you have to read a whole book for each test and only answer one question from the entire book.

Presentations were given, and papers were written. That was about it as far as classwork/homework. The professor, Dr. Roider, defines jovial, which is a good thing since he's the only teacher for this class.

I hate history and I loved this class. He makes everything interesting and relevant. He gives four tests total and if you're happy with your grade after the first three you can blow off the final.

Roider=THE MAN! But you MUST go to class and you MUST study! Cramming is a bitch; I don't recommend it. Also have to read a book(s) for every test. Roider has lenient grading, but his TA's don't. A FUN, INTERESTING CLASS BUT YOU HAVE TO WORK HARD!

Dr. Roider is an amazing teacher! He knows so many random facts that make it interesting. He's really nice and loves his job. You'll have to read books but they aren't bad. His test are kinda hard but just go to class. This is a great class!

Roider is great. He is very knowledgable and makes class fun.

Roider is hilarious! I loved him and his teaching style.

Rodier is the man! Go to class and study for the tests because they can get pretty hard. Be prepared for his laugh.

Roider is a really great history teacher and is pretty nice. Lectures are almost always intresting and tests are easy. You do have to read a few books outside of class though. Beware of the laugh!

Good teacher

Roider is overqualified to teach a 1001 class. He treats students as if they were history majors and in a 3000 level class. DO NOT take Roider if you have the option of taking another history 1001 professor.

He's a good teacher and very open with his students.
