This was a horrible class. Do not take it unless required, and if it is required, don't take McGee!! He used the class to preach his political beliefs and I didn't learn anything.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!! He thinks it is the only class on your schedule and the papers and readings suck!

Western class, LOTS of outside time required...must read a new book or watch a very boring western film EVERY week...McGee expects too much out of his students and does not teach at a 2000 course level...lectures don't help understanding at all

He expects you to know everything in the world about Westerns. He is boring and the lectures have nothing to do with what we have to write our papers on, yet you are supposed to be just as into cowboys and Indians as he is THIS CLASS SUCKS!!

I disliked McGee at first, but he grew on me. He's a funny and interesting teacher, but the material covered was both complex and uninteresting. Avoid this class at all costs.

I'd recommend Dr. McGee to any person. He's an incredible teacher and a very interesting and intelligent person. Class work includes readings and weekly journals.
