I can't be a music major anymore because of this class. My graduation will be postponed another year, and not for a lack of effort. If you read the descriptions for "F" under each category, the "F"s describe him perfectly. Herlinger= F--.

I think I did poorly on his tests because I studied the things that mattered; he tests you on the what doesn't--you WILL fail. He expects you to know everything about everything before you come to class, and will pop quiz you on it.

Herlinger is the most awful teacher I've had. He doesn't care about his students and his tests are practically impossible. Most people fail. He expects you to memorize 160 pgs of Gregorian chant per test. Take 2053 with someone else if possible.

Overall a good class - you certainly learn the basics. Kind of tedious at times and also a little hard to stay awake. Pieces that were studied were fun though
