The positive comments on here are by his TA's. Lecture: he reads an outline, and then rambles. Nothing he talks about is on the test, which is evident when he has to give 40 pt. curves so 80% of the class doesn't fail. Had a 4.0 for 3 sem. b4 this cl

Mathewson was such a funny guy. He obviously isn't the teacher type..he cant lecture, but he uses HUGE curves on tests. You never have to go to class.

the biggest waste of time ever! mathewson rambles on and on and says UH about 400 times a class...never went to class and got an A...dont buy the book...puts notes online

All i have to say is HUUGEE CURVE. I failed every test miserably and still made a B. He rocks at curving. If you gotta take geo, just take him!

To be honest, people are really harsh on Kent, but the tests really aren't that hard, I found that most of the tests were common sense, or high school geography... I never went to class and I got a B!

Really easy class. He is a cool guy, but his lectures can get boring. You could just skip class, read the book, and get an easy A or B with little effort. He gives MONSTER curves.

This was a very easy class where you hardly ever need to go to class because he only reads over his outlines that he posts on semesterbook.

The teacher doesn't give you the infromation you need for the test and going to class doesn't help.

Horrible professor. His lectures were dull and boring. For the mid-term, he did not send out a study guide until the night before the test! Do not take him!

The worst class I've taken at LSU, grand total of # times he say"uh" per class period = 345, this guy is miserable to listen to, he doesnt know how to work any type of equipment and points to maps using a PVC pipe, dont do it!

Dr. Mattewson's lectures are difficult to follow and take notes on, also he is rather arrogant. The fact that he posted his outlines online is not even helpful because they are out of order and posted late.

This is an easy class and you can get an A with little work. I recommend skipping class and reading the book. Lectures are dull and he says "Uhh" every other word. He is a nice guy, willing to help you, and knowledgable.

In order to pass this class, you must know every single thing on the study guides to get an A, but they're not given til 2 or 3 days before all 3 tests ... BUT you never have to go to class. I don't study well, so I guto a C. HUGE CURVES.

He was probably a nice guy, but was a terrible teacher---he stuttered, went off on tangents, and no matter how much you studied, the tests were nearly impossible...thankfully, he curved grades dramatically...

i never went to class..this class is sooo easy...if you want a class where you don't have to attend to and still make an A take Mathewson...he's the bomb!
