DELONG K (GEOG)

i think geography is boring to begin with but i had to take it. Delong is not bad she gave us bonus if we do the quizzes which helps a lot. i recommend her as a teacher if you have to take geography 2050. the course itself didnt interest me, but i heard the other teachers were way worse than she was!

I had no motivation to attend this class, felt like it was just as good reading the book on my own. Material is difficult and you really have to know/understand it all in order to do good on the tests. Only 4 exams, no real homework or other opportunities to raise your grade besides the weekly activities. Most people I talk to have had problems with this class..sure its possible to get a good grade but this class is boring and takes alot of effort/studying...you'll do good in this class if you really understand geography.

Class was horrible! Tests are impossible, and overall the class is very time consuming. DO NOT TAKE HER!

Don't let her scare you off the first day of class. She is really harmless. She goes over a PowerPoint every day, and there is a weekly activity and quiz to do. Doing this every week, she will give you bonus for it. This is the only bonus in this class. It started off as just giving u 5 points on a test, but then mid-way though the semester, she doubled it to 10. There are 4 tests. You have to know the material pretty well and the figures(pictures) from the text book. Tests are in the testing center and are all multiple choice. She is always willing to help students if you email her or talk to her in person. She posts alot of things on moodle, but just not the lecture. She believes in helping people who do their work. She tries to be funny when she really isn't, and she can be really ditzy. Pretty much you could probably skip class and read the text book and you will be fine.

Dr. Delong was not very nice. Over half of the class failed the first exam miserably. She was mean in class and was never very helpful. Just read slides that she refused to put on moodle. She would move extremely fast and sometimes it would be hard to copy the notes down. Not a good teacher at all, and a VERY VERY boring class.
