Patricio is an intelligent guy with a good personality, but tends to teach things too fast; his explanations could be more thorough. He also teaches his own thing, so the textbook & WebWork isn't much help. The majority of the class failed each test!

horrible teacher. He lets you use graphing calculators, but they don't help on most tests. He gives make ups too, but they are impossible. I tried really hard, but Jara made it impossible.

He teaches you the concepts in an understandable manner! All the math problems on the exam you've done before from either hw, cw or webwork just using diff numbers! It's alot of math problems, so make time to do them all, understand and learn!

This was the worst teacher I have ever had. He is very rude and doesen't care about his students. his tests were super hard although he gives a make up for every test, but they were even harder than the first. Try to avoid or you will not do well.

I transfered into his class because of what others posted and was sadly disappointed. Does let you use graphing calculators, but tests are a bitch (not like problems he gives for practice). Does give make-ups though, but are twice the bitch.

Patricio Jara is the man. He lets you use graphing calculators on ALL exams. He gives a lot of partial credit if you have a wrong answer, and gives you full credit if ALL YOU HAVE is the right answer. He teaches from a students perspective. A++

This is probably the best Calculus teacher at LSU, he makes it very interesting and covers a lot of material and he also helps you get prepared for Calculus II
