Cook is an amazing teacher! She gives tons of bonus and really wants you to learn the material. Definitely take the time to go meet her during her office hours and you will not be sorry. Overall the course was easy, I got over a 100 by the end of the semester.

Cook let you buy your notes but other than that you literally sat there and listen to hear talk for the entire hour. The exams were hard and the homework questions online were vague as well. There were 4 tests and then a final. Be prepared to go to class and not learn much from her.

I have no idea whyy sum ppl thought dis class wit cook was a breeze ! i guess deyy must have a thing for chemistryy, but if u jus have to take chem 1201 bc its required in ur degree audit n den get it over wit den i suggest u take kolniak ! i took kolniak for chem 1202 wintersession n it was easyy peasyy .. as for cook, i had to struggle all da time tryin to make it out wit an A in da class ! we had masterin chem as hw n most of da probs we worked out on da hw assignments wasnt even on da exam ! da thing dat helped me out in makin an A for da class was da bonuses she gave ! which was lik 5 points per bonus assignment ! another thing is her dayum accent is annoyin n plus she mumbles a lot so have fun hearin her lecture if ur takin her ! she does tryy to lighten up da mood tho byy crackin up jokes, but most of da time its not funnyy -_-

Cook has a strong accent but her lecture notes are amazing. If you just go to class and keep up you'll do fine. Mastering chemistry is a pain and never really helped me for the exams, but as long as you look over your lecture notes before the exam you'll do fine!

I would highly recommend Cook for chemistry. She's nice and fair. I had a little trouble understanding her because of her accent but I could understand her for the most part. Homework is a HUGE part of your grade. I went to the academic center for success to make sure I got really high grades on all my homework and that helped a lot. She gives random quizzes during class sometimes but they count as participation points. So if your there and take it, you get a 100% no matter if your answers are right or wrong. She does grade them and give them back to you to study so you do have to try (you can't just write bs on your quizzes). if you study and do the work you'll do fine!

Dr. Cook was pretty good. She gives so much bonus!! That will be the great thing if you take her. The tests are not tricky. They simply test you on what you know and she doesnt screw you. Also the is a nice curve on the exam so it's really nice. If you put a little time in you will get the grade you want. Go to SI and do a practice test the night before

I was told not to take this class but i did ...... failblog! Cook requires alot of outside work and her test are a whole lot harder than other chem teachers. . I would study with kolniak notes and do better than studying from her notes. Her test are really hard. Take Kolniak, he makes chemistry really enjoyable!

Dr. Cook is a great teacher I am taking Chem 1202 with next semester. I was not hesitant to schedule her again. Take her, its a great class and you will learn a lot.

Cook is a funny teacher. She laughs at her own jokes and is strangely entertaining. The class is okay. Cook has a note packet that you should buy and you just fill out the notes in class. If you do the homework you should do well on the exams. Just study and do the homework and you should make a good grade.

she does have a polish accent but she is understandable, and she makes jokes which are partly funny because they are funny and part because of her accent and personality. you do have to buy notes and fill them in so go to class. do NOT talk or text or even be on a laptop in her class you will be removed. She is nicer to the morning classes then the afternoon classes esp the 7:40 class. if you have her for 1201 try to get her for 1202 so you can have the same teaching style and know her accent.

Dr. Cook was very organized and always had the exam answers posted right after the exam. She was also very willing to help anyone who wanted to learn! Although she would sometimes mumble and ramble on to where not many people could really hear her, she offered tons of bonus! I took her for 1201 also which in my opinion was a little more difficult but still bearable. Take Cook if you want to learn!!

I took this class because I needed it. She was sort of a bitch. Don't let your cell go off in class, or you will get kicked out. I was supposed to get a C in the class, but I somehow got a B. She gives a TON of bonus, which helps out in the end. You have to study for her tests.

Dr. Cook is an awesome teacher. I came in too her class wanting to be a biology major but now I am considering a chem major. She makes learning chemistry easy. Yes you have to go class, but to do well in any class you usually have to go to class. Take Dr. Cook if you can !

Dr. Cook was a really good teacher and nice person. Going to her lectures and buying the notes really were useful. She's really helpful outside of class and give a lot of bonus throughout her class. Chem I isn't easy, but she made it bearable!

Cook is a great professor. She's a bit eccentric, but she really knows the material. Don't skip class because you will fall behind.

I had Cook 1st semester. Now I'm taking Hogan. I heard he's the man. Cook was difficult, I lived in the tutoring lab and had to get them to do my homework for me and went to almost every SI session.

She gives notes but its fill in the blank so go to class. DONT TALK IN CLASS OR SHE WILL ASK YOU TO LEAVE (trust me). Lots of bonus points. Pay attention or youll fall behind and have no idea whats going on... kinda like me

Cook can be a little hard to understand but she is a good teacher. Don't talk in her class b/c she isn't scared to call you out and ask you to leave in front of the entire class. Make sure to do all of the homework and use the book to study for test!

Cook was a little anal. She would freak out with any sort of tiny disruption, but overall she was a good teacher. She cared about her students.

You have to study ahead for this class. Go to the chemistry tutoring. It is impossible to catch up if get behind. Test are easier than the homework questions, but are theory based so watch out!

Cook provided many opportunities for bonus. The exams were bearable if you used the previous tests she provides on Blackboard as an outline. Notes have to be printed and brought to class, and the WebAssign is usually harder than the actual tests.

I got an A, but i had to work my butt off for it. The average in this class was a low D, Take Kolniak.

Cook is amazing, but don't expect an easy A- you will have to work for it. She is extremely organized, and notes are easy to follow. You will leave the class fully prepared for CHEM 1202 and Organic Chemistry.

Dr. Cook has somewhat of an accent. Tests are harder than they need to be. If you know the material it's easy enough though. She is a good teacher and will help

She is an excellent person and I love her fun personality, but she really does not speak the students language. Noone really knows what she's talking about and it makes it so hard to follow. Use Smartthinking for homework. The only way to do well.

Cook is awesome. I'm sure everyone would request Hogan (for an easy A) but no... this woman TEACHES the material and WANTS you to know it for chem2. Puts her notes online, you print them, bring them to class, fill the rest in. Study & youll do well!

She is a very nice teacher who gives lots of bonus quizes (take home). She does give pop quizes so go to class but overall is very willing to help students.

Chemistry 1201 is not the most interesting class, but Cook is always available for extra help and as long as you go to her office hours she will explain the entire chapter to you if necessary. Lots of bonus quizzes!!

The lectures were very boring. All of her notes and work in class and at home is strictly problem based. However, her tests are only about 40% problem based. Make sure you study concepts. She does give a curve at the end of the semester.

This teacher is very weird, the notes you buy for her class are very difficult to study or do homework from and they don't properly prepare you for class and she sometimes talks to quietly during lecture if you can stay awake.

Terrible accent...this class is much more comprehensive than any other Chem 1201 class...don't waste your time with class you will need to learn the material on your own!

Cook is a terrible teacher who has no idea how to communicate the material. She also has no personality and a strong accent which makes the information difficult to follow.
