Experiments make you feel like you're in kindergarten. Made habitat for flies, aluminum foil animals, and played with doodle bugs. Fairly challenging quiz each class (STUDY!) My lab TA was sympathetic, though, and was willing to round up my 88.4%.

This class makes your bio degree worth something. The hardest thing about this class was having to think like a scientist and not having the answers given to you. Lab reports take a long time, but are rewarding

Interesting class. MY instructor (not necessarily all) was very easy going and a fair grader. Weekly quiz and doesn't require too much studying. Good class.

Patil is VERY nice and will help you if you ask, but the class itself is one of the most boring I've had. Random quizzes are given each class...sorry but 3 hrs is just too much. But get Patil if you have to take this class.

I had Leaf Boswell as my teacher. She was awesome! Very easy to understand and quizzes and tests were easy if you paid any attention. Have her check over your writing assignments and labs before they are due. Highly recommend!

Easy lab. My grad asst. basically made the spreadsheets for us, and if you sent your lab report into him early, he would correct mistakes for you. Quizzes and final somewhat difficult, read the manual. Do the bonus, if offered,it will help you a lot.

My TA was Matt Gilbert. Very hard class, requires lots and lots of work -- BUT! You really do get a lot out of this lab if you put the work in.

S. Ray is an alrgiht teacher and gives easy quizez if you study. If you put the effort in with her you will get an A however her grading is very subjective and you never know why you get the grades you do

I got an 89.6, and my TA E Lawrence told me coldly, "You have to draw the line somewhere." What a stupid grading policy. My TA's quizzes were difficult, and the grading system is unfair. Material was so boring. 1208/1209 labs need a makeover!

Chris Faulk was a great teacher. The only problem I had with the class was that the dept. head wanted each class to cover so much info. C. Faulk was really helpful in explaining everything and was always ready to help. His tests are super easy!

The class was easy and my teacher (Lucas Veillon) was a nice guy but wasn't overly clear on explaining the material. It is critical to not miss a lab. Also, you have to do all the assignments or your grade will suffer.

As all labs, taught by grad assts. Most are foreign and hard to understand. This class is pretty dumb...it's more a computer powerpoint class than a lab class. Our lab instructor kept us there all 3 hours, so that sucked. It's pretty super boring.

Jeremy Holman's grading was unfair. He would take off points for things on the powerpoints that he never said had to be on them. He graded like the class was an upper level bio class instead of a 1 hour entry level biology class.

I had David Anderson. He was a good teacher, very energetic and concerned about the students. The class has too much work for a 2hr class for nonmajors, but it's all pretty easy, especially if you paid attention in high school biology.

In my estimation, there is way too much expected for a 1 hour course, and taking this course over 1208 is problably not worth the one honors hour that you will get out of it.

Most of the biology labs are mind-numbing. This one's OK. It all depends on who your T.A. is. But the procedures are interesting. Our quizzes were hard and the final was brutal, but...depends on the T.A.

The intro bio labs are pretty bad, to be honest w/ you. they dont get good until 2000+. this course isnt hard really, just lots of outside work doing lab reports. having said that, take this course cause if ud like the honors credit.

Group assignments were difficult to coordinate, grading was not timely so we had to complete new assignments with no feedback... result was poor grades on several lab reports because we had no idea what she wanted.

This lab was pretty difficult, but it just depends on ur grad asst. They make up your quizzes and they grade your lab reports. Just hope that your grad asst. is specific in what she/he wants on it.
