The material is just indepth from general chem, the homework assignments can be tricky, but the test are actually straight forward! The whole class is graded on a curve that is different for each test, so there are multiple curves in the class.

I HAD ZERO CHEM KNOWLEDGE, CLASS ATTENDANCE NOT NECASSARY, SAMPLE TESTS JUST LIKE REAL TEST, DROPS LOWEST GRADE, TAKES TIME TO DO AN OPTIONAL STUDY SESSION BEFORE EACH TEST, HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Brian Hales is horrible. Plain and simple, the man cannot teach. Yea I got an A, but no thanks to him. If you take this cat, make sure you have a book because that is the only thing that will help you pass!!

Hales really was a bad teacher, one of the worst at LSU, his class was hard because he didn't explain what was needed for the exams, web assign was easy though, but tests were hard, bad communicator

I ended up droping Hales class mid-semester. He was awful! He knows too much to teach this subject. He just can't grasp why we, the students, don't understand everything right off the bat.

Hales is not very good at explaining any of the work that he does. Get into any other 1201 class if you can. Take him as a last result.
