Review #1 / Course: CHEM 2262 / Instructor: NESTEROV E
So everyone knows organic is not an easy subject, especially Organic 2. Nesterov covers more in depth material than Davilla but offers a whole bunch of bonus points! So much that this semester, Spring 2011, he offered a total of 90 bonus points max! Chem Demo, Clicker questions, quizzes online, and extra synthesis sessions (every Monday night) are all bonus points! So you can do really horrible on the tests and make an A in the class if you do the bonus- which is necessary to pass the class. Four tests including the final so max amount of points is 400. On the first three tests he allows you to not take the multiple choice section on the test (worth 40 points) and replace it with your inclass exam clicker questions. Each class he has one Exam Clicker question. so if you get all the exam clicker questions correct you can totally skip the multiple choice section of the tests and get a 40/40 on that part! My tests score average was a 74% and after the bonus points I got an 92% overall! So if you are one of those people like me that couldn't spend a whole lot of time studying for organic and want to still make an A= take Nesterov! Hope this review helps=)

THE WORST. Nesterov is from Russia and his accent tells you so. On top of his thick accent, he mumbles and he has terrible handwriting. He speaks English but his accent is so thick that he may as well speak only Russian and every time I have asked him a question after class, his answer was less than helpful. Very nice man and he knows the material very well. He love what he teaches, he just needs to teach it in Russia.

Good class, Nesterov seems kind of crazy in a good way, but he finally made me understand Organic Chem and I did really well in his class.

He was the worst prof, he didnt seem to care and he was very hard to understand dont waste your time with him. If course is needed take Davila or someone other then him.

Nesterov makes this class very interesting, but he has trouble covering all the material in the time allotted. There are tons of opportunity for bonus (tests are curved, you can replace 1 test and get up to 40 points added to another)
