The class is fun. But look out for the midterm and final exams, they are hard. Make sure you prepare a lot for them. Dr. Davila is a good teacher and makes it interesting. Also he will help you if you go to his office

Davila lectures for about an hour then you are sent to the lab to do the experiment. There are about 15 quizzes and 2 make up quizzes that can replace your lowest quiz grades. Try to get previous semester quizzes to survive. For most experiments, you have to submit your product for a grade. Midterm is horrible and Final is somewhat descent. Beware though, you must study for the midterm and final. Made a B in this class because of them.

Get the lab reports from someone, that's the hardest part. Quizzes before every class help keep you on track, but midterm and final are tough.

Dr. Davila can be very fun, as well as enthusiastic. He can be difficult to understand during lecture, but is very helpful and engaging during office hours. He is definitely one of those professors that really wants the students to understand the material and succeed. He provides plenty of practice tests and quizzes which is extremely helpful. It is a class with a lot of work, meant to be a weed out, so just buckle down and get it over with! Davila is a great assest to have in getting that good grade.

Organic sucks as bad as everyone says it does, but Davila makes it bearable. Buy his note packet for $20 at beginning of semester, and you don't need the book. Has 2 quizzes before each test, 15 pts each, and relatively easy 15/15 if you study a little the night before. GO TO SI!! Also, Davila gives you total of 4 practice exams from previous semesters before every test. 3 Tests and Final, and a slightly curved grading scale. 100-87 = A, 86-75 = B, etc.

Don't take the midterm or final lightly. It doesn't matter who your teacher is for the class. You take the same midterm and final. It's helpful to have a harder TA since you'll be better prepared for the mid and final. This class weeds-out people

This lab is harder than Gchem lab, obviously. The experiments arent horrible but the midterm and final exams are not easy. Study ALOT!! I found it to be easier in the summer. DO NOT TAKE TAMARA NAUMAN!!!

Davila is one of the best teachers ive had at LSU.he is sooo funny.he makes the material really easy to understand and even though his tests were not multiple choice they were not difficult.every time he talks i want to laugh, hell i'm laughing now!
