Mr. Schmitt makes you write 3 papers in the semester. You get one week for a rough draft and then another week to finish. We did peer review and the whole class also looked over one person's paper. He gives you a paper that tells you how he grades and he is willing to help you outside of class. He really prepares you for the assessment.

Eric is an okayy teacher ! u have 4 essays to do, n it was a pain in da ass for me -_- he doesnt give anythin higher den a 95% bc he says we're not professional enuff to make 100% r sumthin lik dat .. u did get to re-do one of da essays, but it can onlyy b da 2nd or 3rd essayy ! if ur good in writin n grammatical errors den i suggest u take dis teacher .. if not den take sumone else !

Schmitt was an awesome English professor! Go to class every day, he gives participation points. He kept the lectures funny and engaging, which says a lot because English can be very dull sometimes. He's a great guy, and he really cares about his students. I wish he taught English 2000, i would take him again.

Schmitt was a laid back guy. He was clear on what he wanted, but he can be boring. But what can you expect. its english!

Schmitt was a really laid back guy. All of the novels you are assigned can be read on SparkNotes, and you can easily pass quizzes and write your essays based on SparkNotes. You never have to actually waste time reading the terribly boring books.

Mr. Schmitt is cool. Though english is boring, he lets you out of class early almost everyday so that helps. He really cares about his students and will take the time to help you out if you need it. Good teacher.

great instructor. very interesting and personal, despite a big class. reading was enjoyable and aside from a few essays, the only outside work. if you read the material, you'll do well.

most people take this class to learn to read faster - like i did, and it worked. "a 600 page book in a week?! wtf?" yeah, now it's not so bad when i look at books and i don't cringe at the thought of reading. um.. use spark notes if you can.

Mr. Schmitt is never prepared for class. You have to read like 50 pages a night. He relys on students talking in class. He throws papers on you last minute and doesn't give information for tests until like the day before. Don't take him!

He is a GREAT teacher and person (very funny). His class is not hard, very laid back. I changed my major to english
