STAFF (CHEM)

This lab is definitely not the most fun you will have at LSU. I was lucky to have a very nice TA (Jiba) who was easier to understand than the average Asian or Indian grad student. Nauman is NOT the lab advisor you want to have, but my section was switched from Davila to Nauman at the last second. Boo. Lots of quizzes (practically every lab), so see if friends who have already taken the lab held onto theirs. There was a marked improvement from the midterm exam grades to the final exam grades, so don't get overly bummed if you do less than average. There is a pretty good chance someone bombed worse than you. The first few labs will take the whole time, but others will see you out of there in 1 hour-ish.

My TA was Zhaoyuan Liu. He was picky when grading the labs, and he talks softly. He wasn't that helpful, but he wasn't bad either. Nauman is strict and uptight. She doesn't want to explain anything to you. The labs are long, and the quizzes suck. Study your butt off and you'll be alright.

This was Marzilli's first time teaching this class. We really had no idea what to expect on the quizzes and exams. Also, the lab reports take some time to write, but were graded fairly easily.

Try to find someone who has taken this class. Quizzes are similar to previous semesters. If you don't have the previous quizzes, then you are in trouble.

I forgot my teachers name. Some Chinese lady right off the boat, did not speak a word of English but she tried hard. Listening to her was like trying to understand a mime. Material and tests are easy, just follow the book and you'll be fine no absen!

Hardcore class as you've probably heard. Tests are die-hard. Labs are reasonable if you keep up. I spent more time on this then the lectures. Quizzes and HW should be free points if you study a bit.

The class material is difficult, so make sure you get a good instructor. Eric Wright was a very nice man, but could not teach well and lost control of the 250+ person class quickly. Go with a different instructor.

Dr. Price, M... what can i say about Price? He is VERY GOOD LOOKING!! HE IS HOT! HE IS THE HOTTEST PROFESSOR AT LSU! I go to the class and learn Nothing because i am too busy staring at the professor. ALL the girls should take this class.
