LANE S (PSYC)

The material, overall is not difficult, but this class really sucks. Participation has a decent weight, there are several books to read that REALLY matter, lecture often gets dry, and there are lots of group assignments and lecture assignments (those arent so bad, they help your GPA, but if you miss class you get a 0). The notes on noteswap are really weak. Lane is a seasoned lecturer, but i personally think he may be a pervert. Good luck.

Lane's class is pretty easy-going. Posts slides on Moodle so just bring them to class and jot down the additional notes he gives in class. In addition to tests (which he gives a study guide for), there are a few group activities and outside worksheets to do which can really boost your grade if you don't do so well on a test.

Sean Lane's course is very helpful but it's harder than your average Psych class. He requires you to read many books and a HUGE health article and then tests you on it. Avoid taking this class if you have a busy schedule. With this being said, Lane is very respectful and helpful when you come to his office hours. (Try not to fall asleep in his class though.)

Material is only somewhat interesting, but the class isn't too hard. Just complete the study guide he gives for every test, study from that, and you'll do fine.

Tests are word for word from notes, but he grades really hard on short answer, if you don't have it exact you get taken off, too much time and effort for such simple material, 3 books to read, not worth it

Dr. Lane's class was very interesting, but be prepare to have a lot of reading and lecture material to study. It is not an easy class but you will learn a lot.
