For an English major, the content is enjoyable. But Novak is impossible. He's a nice guy but wrong for the course. The course is more of a criticism class than a survey of British literature. His interpretation of a passage is the ONLY one that matters. Gives little guidance on papers, can never meet his expectations.

Actually took this as a rotating capstone (not Dickens) and loved the course because of Novak. He's knowledgeable, fun and a great teacher.
