CATANZARO J (ISDS)

Joni is a character to say the least. Many complain that she doesn't know anything about programming, but in the end, it's an easy class with her. The programs she assigns take a lot of time outside of class, but other than that, easy multiple choice tests and a lot of copying and pasting of code for program tests. Downside, she's moving to VB 2010 next semester so I'm not sure how well she'll do with Visual Studio 2010.

Easy A. Catanzaro is pretty cool. Class is once a week. I got a B in the class because I'm dumb and didnt study for my final. If you have a friend that takes the tests earlier, you can review their mystatlab exam and pretty much see the exam beforehand.

Mrs. Catanzaro was a great teacher, very entertaining. If you are going to take this class I can't imagine a better teacher. The subject matter is extremely easy - Microsoft Office and a little on computers, the internet, etc. Grades came from participation; computer assignments; computerized tests on Word, Excel and PowerPoint; and a multiple choice midterm and final. The Microsoft Office tests came identical to the computer assignments and easy. The midterm and final came from the lectures on computers and the internet. Class was only held once every other week for a lecture and then on test days.

Mrs. Catanzaro was a great teacher, very entertaining. If you are going to take this class I can't imagine a better teacher. A very funny lady and a good instructor. She is however, a very ruthless grader, so make sure your programs are error-free. Tests can be stressful, ask her for a study guide beforehand.

The class itself is pointless, unless you need to brush up on how to use excel. Tests and outside work have nothing to do with one another. Joni is nice enough though.

Mrs. Joni is a great teacher. Will help you with anything, and cares about her students. This class requires a lot of outside work, but it isn't too bad. The midterm/final comes straight from the power points. Overall, this is an easy A.

Mrs. Joni is a great professor who really cares for her students! The class may be a little tedious, but she will go out of her way to help you. She has a wonderful personality and the midterm and final come straight from the notes!

This class is very easy as long as you keep up with the tutorials and homework. I only earned a B because I missed the final. For the people who made worse grades, they didn't do the work and Mrs. Joni is an awesome teacher!

Joni is a little crazy sometimes, but if you go to class, bring your computer. Even if you don't pay attention, she'll think you are and she'll love you. She doesn't know VB that well, but she gets by. She acts more cajun than she actually is.

Not an easy A. The computer tests were aggravating, but you have to do the labwork in order to be really prepared. Class was boring, and Joni's cajun accent bugged the hell outta me.

pretty much an independent study course... u dont need to go to class. If you do though, Joni is a sweetheart! She emails constant reminders and u need to keep up w/ assignments. about 3 hours of computer work every few weeks. Easy A if you do it

Ms. Joni is fantastic. the dept. is strict abt grading. no bonus or rounding-up. MUST finish online assignments in time! they worth a lot eventually.

This woman puts the itch in bitch. Not only did she admit to me that the tests were made to lower grades, she lies about things. Treats you like kindergarteners. No longer an easy class.

I wish I could add an A+ for personality. Ms. Joni is a fantastic instructor who is ALWAYS willing to help. Besides being super nice, she holds help sessions and has great office hours. I'd love to take her again!

Invaluable course for someone wanting to be asp.net developer; impossible to fail this class

Ms Joni is wonderful and the sweetest lady you might ever meet. Material is easy enough. But if you do need help shes available and willing! Plus, candy before every test!!

this class is an easy a. go to class once every other week and take tests. small amounts of class work required to be done outside of class on SAM.

Seriously, this is the best teacher I have yet to have. She is very motivating and wants you to learn everything about the class. Willing to help you out even DURING the test!! Highly, HIGHLY recommended

If you're taking ISDS, get this lady, she's legit

Very easy A class. Just don't forget to do your assignments when they're due. Tests at the end get harder, but just keep practicing the problems and methods. Joni is very nice.

Very easy class, nice teacher, but treats you like you're 5 and sends about 5-10 emails a week reminding you of the same stuff over and over.

Mrs. Joni is the best, this class is very interesting if you like programming and actually not too hard.

She's nice and fun. Take her, it's an easy A if you just do the homework.

You only go to class on test days (once every 2 weeks), super easy stuff-Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, easy stuff, anyone can ace it!

If you aren't an ISDS major, don't take this class. Joni is helpful and keeps it fun. This class requires a lot of time and patience. She is very picky about programs you turn in, but you have to learn her grading style.

This class is a joke. YOu don't go to class. YOu do all of the work on your own. This is a good thing and a bad thing. The material is easy, but a lot to memorize for tests. Don't blow it off,because if you put forth the effort, it's an easy A.

If you love a teacher who treats you like you're 5 and is nit-picky as all heck, you'll love "Ms. Joni"

Fun teacher, kinda treats you like a kid though(grades on spelling and things of that sort). Class is easy to grasp, just read the book. Work examples and understand - you will do good on tests and assignments.

She is very easy. All you have to do is complete tutorials and the exams are easy.

Good teacher, sometimes gets off the subject though. She isn't clear on exactly what the tests will cover. I got an A on every test and assignment but i'd worked with VB before this class. The class requires a lot of time but an A is possible!

She makes class as interesting as possible and provides a lot of help for assignments.

Catanzaro tried really hard, but she probably shouldn't have been teaching this class. She just doesn't know enough VB. Pretty picky on points for projects too

She doesn't know VB well enough to teach it, but tried hard and might be better next semester.

She taught the Internet section so she never really taught the class, but was nice and funny for the tests.

Its like going back to high school - full of busy work and petty people

The grading system was arbitrary (three different graders) and points were deducted excessively for nit-picky details that did not affect the program.
