Haughty, boring, unclear, and arrogant. Even though he is intelligent, he does not seek to impart his "vast knowledge" (self-described) onto his classes. Only good thing I can say is that his laziness often causes him to cancel class.

Holt is very smart, but has a lot of health problems - misses class frequently and it took a long time to get grades back. Holt was not as bad as I expected, but requires a lot of effort and reading.

Holt really knows his stuff. Go to class but don't try to look like you know everything. Holt hates teacher's pets and doesn't hesitate to embarass them.

He is one of the most intelligent men i have ever come across at LSU. He is very very wise and extremely well educated and read. He is very conservative, southern and gentlemanly. All in all a good man and an excellent teacher. Take Him

He is a grouch but the most intelligent teacher i have ever had. if you get on his good side you'll love him. I took english 1002, english 2025, and now taking english 2029 with him

He is a jerk, if you miss an exam with a valid purpose, he doesn't feel like rewriting the exam. So, he gives you a 59 and says that is the best you can do.

There are no words to explain this man. He will tell you to ask him any question you need then humiliate you for asking. He has no problem shouting and being rude. Do not take him unless you enjoy crying or seeing other people cry.

If you have to take this class DO NOT TAKE HOLT. He grades hard and is awfully mean. I don't know one person in this class with an A.

This man has a horrible personality. He also thinks that can walk on water. He is the most pompus man I have ever met. He embarasses people for asking questions. His grading is a load of crap! DO NOT TAKE HIM!!

the worst teacher at lsu. out of the 3 b's I received at lsu, his class was one of them. he is a jerk. his grading procedure is completely unfair. please do not take him.

I would NOT recommend Dr. Holt. I found him to be very unfair. He gave grades without even attempting to explain why. He made me feel stupid for asking any questions and embarrassed me on several occasions.

You would think that he is a damn genious after he grades your paper and gives everyone a D or F. Terrible people skills, definitely has no LIFE off campus, and needs to evaluate HIMSELF more harshly. You will know why if you see him.

Dr. Holt is really into Shakespeare, but seems to expect that his students should be on his level of understanding, and doesn't want to waste his time on those who are not.

Dr Holt grades EXTREMELY difficut. He is not very nice and he will destroy your self esteem. There are much better teachers for this course

You'll definitely be a better writer, but don't take this course with this teacher expecting an A. He was extremely difficult, but you'll learn alot. Follow his directions to the extreme.
