Ferrell had two exams and a final, each with some material from the test(s) before it. He posts past exams online- a big help. Written comprehension/vocab questions- no multiple choice. He remembers names, so a good relationship will pay off.

Do not take this class! It is ridiculously hard for a 1000-level class. The tests are all essay and the exams are comprehensive. This class is extremely boaring and requires a lot of reading and studying. This class took up a lot of my time.

This class is boring no matter what. Its hard material w/ Ferrel, because his tests are essay. Dont take geology period.

Ferrell's tests are hard, but he tells you most of the q's ahead of time. He also offers a lot of extra credit; I ended up with 8 points added to my final grade!

Geology with Ferrell is retarded, sometimes i think he doesn't even know its an intro class.Tests ALL essay and even if you know EVERYTHING inside and out you'll fail. 130 people out of about 200 failed the first test No Curve! way too hard for intro

His exams are all essay, but after I took the first one I realized his exams were easier then multiple choice exams. He gives hints on what will be on the exam so you know exactly what to study. He is a great professor.
