Rivet was helpful outside of class if he likes you, or if you are female. While tutoring me he became very inapproriate.VERY! He is impatient and an asshole. And disgusting! Unless you like little bald men, ha... then go for it.

Don't listen to any of the people that are bashing on this guy. He is AWESOME! Of my 4 spanish classes, I have without a doubt learned the MOST with Rivet. He cares about his students and if you are having trouble GO TALK TO HIM HE WILL HELP YOU!

Rivet's awesome. Funny guy, really cares about you learning, and a fair grader, if not tipping things in your favor. However, he does require LOTS of work from you. If you're majoring or minoring in spanish, definitely a great teacher. If not...

Sr. Rivet is demanding, but you do learn as well. Beware if you are a 1102 or higher student... he expects ALOT of you.

Dont let the first day scare you! He seems hard at first but stick around because it gets better. He is comical and uses real life examples to teach. If you want to be well prepared for 2101 take Sr. Rivet!

Is ok if you are taking 2101, but NOT worth it at all if this is your last spanish. Tests are easy but he grades way to harshly on objective things like participation and orals. My entire class hated him. Lots of easier/better teachers

Rivet is a horrible teacher. He makes the class way too hard for an 1102 spanish class. First class I ever had to drop in college, because I thought I was going to fail it. I made an A in 1101 and was not about to get an F from this man.

He is a ruthless little man with a Napolean complex. Made learning Spanish hard which set the tone for the rest of the Spanish classes I have to take. Don't take this guy.

He's an "accent Nazi". He doesn't return emails. His tests are ridiculously hard. On the first test I didn't miss a single question and got an 81. He took off sooooo many points for accents. If you're God and know everything then take this class

He is a wonderful teacher. I would definitely recommend him to other students. He gives homework everyday but the practice REALLY helps with learning the subject.

THIS KID IS A DOUCHE BAG!!! He thinks that he's cool and that you are non-existent. He cares nothing about his students and is constantly trying to be a smart ass. He teaches pretty much entirely in spanish and his voice is the most annoying ever!!

This guy is a DORK. Drop the class now!! He is not very helpful and thinks he's "oh so cool." He speaks almost entirely in spanish and when you ask for help, he tries to be a smart a** and continues to speak in spanish. TAKE BAENA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If this is your last Spanish, don't take Rivet, but if you have more to take, he's your guy. Very hard, expects a lot, but you WILL learn, and he eases up toward the end of the semester.

Although it seems like a lot of work, if you plan on taking SPAN 2101 his class really prepares you for it.

i only survived because i love spanish...i learned a lot in the class, but it was one of the hardest classes i've ever taken...he eases up after the last day to drop with a "W"...but until then, be ready to eat, sleep, and breath spanish
