Barnes is pretty scatterbrained, but he isn't difficult by any means. Usually gives extensions on papers. For a 3000-level English, it's an EASY class.

Barnes is a great relaxed guy who gives a lot of great info. if you take the bible literally, then you may not want to take it cause this deals with the literary aspect and scholarly views, no faith involved which i loved.

Hilarious and friendly professor, very intelligent, you won't know what to expect for his exams or papers, but he's an easy grader and is very liberal with his due-dates, you can convince him to make things out of class and he won't make them harder.

Barnes is horrible. He is extremely boring. He asks you to write rough drafts and then doesnt grade them so you dont really get a chance to revise your essays. Don't take him, he is a liberal a**hole!

Barnes is more than fair when it comes to grading papers and is enthusiastic about the course content. He does frequently share his political views that aren't relevant to the class at all! Overall easy class and teacher.

Mr. Barnes is a sweet old man who knows his stuff. He makes the class very interesting and always makes you laugh. He grades papers a little tough but if you go to his office and talk to him he will help you out. You must come to class though!

Dr. Barnes is the best English teacher I have ever had; his assignments made you think and his personality and sense of humor made the class an absolute pleasure to be in. Take Barnes for any class you can.

Barnes is funny and really laid back about the class and deadlines. You never really know what he expects though. You have a lot of assignments, but I think he starts to grade easier towards the end of the semester.
