BORNE C (ISDS)

Carolyn and this class are utterly useless, although she is a nice lady. Didn't enjoy it one bit. She can't solve a simple math problem to save her life if she doesn't have a solved example in front of her. The material was very boring. I hardly came to class but earned a good grade by utilizing MyITLab for extra practice. Two tests and a final, all computerized in the testing center. Multiple choice/true&false/numeric problems. Don't get too caught up studying the numeric ones...they only account for about 25% of the test, regardless of what she says. I read the book to study the multiple choice/true&false. Gave bonus throughout the semester that amounted to a potential 4% points on your final course grade. Littlefield Game wasn't impossible...just sort of a pain. She is willing to help if you need it, although I don't know how effective that would be.

Carolyn is a very sweet lady and very willing to help if you need it. That being said, she is awful at explaining anything. She used to do programming for a living but she doesn't seem to be very knowledgeable of the current Visual Studio environment and her programming skills in VB were questionable. Gives two multiple choice/written exams that are easy if you've read the book. One computer exam that many seem to struggle with, but I found it easy. Several programming assignments that can be very time-consuming, which is especially annoying when she schedules them at the last minute. But all in all I went to class probably 20% of the time and made a high A. Oh and don't expect your grades anything that isn't Scantron until finals week.

Borne is extremely nice, and the course can be somewhat interesting. However I feel learning C++ would be more beneficial than VB. 2 written exams and 2 computer exams. Written tests are as breeze if you just read the chapters once the night before. Do the practice tests she sends out for the computer exams and you've got an A.

only good thing about this course is that it doesn't require much studying. tests are through the computer testing center. save your quiz questions and study them. they are the test questions. as long as you study the quiz & homeworks you can make an A in this class without ever going to class. Borne is a nice person, but she can't teach. she can't solve a math problem unless she has the answer in front of her.

Borne is a good teacher who cares about students, but you have to study to do well. Really focus on the class notes and you should do well.

class is kind of boring but not too bad. took over summer - i would recommend. have 2 projects - don't slack on them!! takes a while with grades though.

Easy to do well if you try. The other teacher, Kelle (I think), is horrible from what I have heard. Borne is nice and fair with grading. Would definitely choose her again if I had to do it over. Take her for this class.

Take this right after you take ISDS 2000/2001 and you'll make life easier. Best teacher for this class. Test aren't difficult but adequate. I would attend every class and study no more than 30 minutes outside of class. Overall easy.

This class is as interesting as watching paint dry. Fortunately it's the last of the "DS" classes in ISDS. Borne makes the class bearable, but I've heard that the intersession version is ridiculously easy.

This class is easy, all you have to do is read an article and write a paper. Borne is a fair grader so I'd recommend taking it from her.

Borne is a good teacher. She will prepare you for the second VB class well. Her tests may scare people due to the time constraint, but it you remain calm you will do fine.

For the love of God, take this course. You basically work an IT job and write a 12 page paper about the job and slightly relate it to an article she sends you. 12 pages was nothing for a job I worked at for 3.5 years. Easy credit.

Great teacher, definitely the best for this class. Make SURE you get a good group for the project or it will affect your grade. Very concerned about her students and easily approachable. Gives ppt in advance but going to class helps out a LOT.

Borne is the BEST teacher ever. She is SO nice and concerned about her students. Constantly willing to give outside help and the class is NOT hard. Went to class 80% of the time and got a HIGH A. She is AWESOME.

Though any computer science major would laugh at calling Visual Basic a programming language, it's really the only language I enjoy. The class is REALLY easy if you have prior experience with VB, and if you don't, it's not that hard to learn.

This is the most awesome teacher you can get for this required class. She's so easy and effective. I didn't have to study but a night before exam. The game is fun too and if you come in frist place, you don't even have to write the report.

Take this class for an easy elective. This class is shit easy and it doesn't really matter who you take it with because they all cover the exact same material.

Bonre is HOT! Class is hard; however, mastering this course can lead to good job; try hard, go to class, and spend a lot of time studying!

This class is very easy, but make sure you have plenty of time to do outside work before you sign up for this class.

Teacher doesn't matter for this class. Easy A, only have class once every 2 weeks.

Easy class, Easy A, but if you need to contact Borne, she takes at least a day to respond by email. Don't save anything til last minute because computer trouble is not an excuse!

Easy class, just keep up with the assignments and an A is easily earned.

YOU ONLY HAVE TO GO TO THIS CLASS LIKE ONCE EVERY 2 WEEKS. ITS AN EASY A, BUT SOME OF THE "TUTORIALS" GET A LITTLE TEDIOUS. ALL OF THE ISDS CLASSES ARE EASY, BUT BOURNE IS PROBABLY THE EASIEST.

This class is extremely easy no matter what teacher you takes. Even though you'll only see her for the tests, I would recommend taking Borne just in case something bad occurs... she'll try to help you out and she's very understanding. nice lady!

This class is completely outside work. You only go to class for the exams. Be prepared to do the tutorials and preassesments before the deadline. Stay on top of that and you're guaranteed an A!!

Very easy class if you do the tutorials on time. Mrs.Bourne is also always willing to help.

Ms. Borne is slow to respond to emails, slow to grade papers, and she is vague in her lectures. You really teach yourself in this class.

She just reads slides in class. You really have to read and teach yourself.

Very disappointing, this class should be hard and taught like CSC 1250, not based on vocabulary. It needs more hardcore programming!

She read PowerPoint slides to us in class and you had to read the book and figure out JavaScript on your own.

crse should not be 3000 level , cborne doesnt know how tohandle the class
