He is an a-hole. He thinks every student is a slacker. Easy class, just read over the chapters and you'll at worst get a B. I was actually mad that I got a B. He seems unhappy to be there. And he hates his cat. I hate his cat, too.

OMG!! I HATED this class with a passion. STAY AWAY! I have no clue why so many studens idolize this man. It's beyond me. He gives crappy notes but the only good thing about this class is the extra credit. P.S. The final was so freaking hard.

Slovak makes Astronomy interesting, but can sometimes belittle people. He does have a decent sense of humor which makes class a little more fun.

Slovak is quite a character, so class was usually entertaining. And there are plenty grades to go around, from homework assignments to quizzes to tests to extra credit. A little work will get you a B, a little more for the A.

Do NOT think that you will be gazing through a telescope in this class!! All you do is sit in front of a computer and copy and paste data into Microsoft Excel tables. BORING!! but very very easy. Oh, and Slovak never goes...we have the TA.

Dr. Slovak is awesome, I took him over the summer and enjoyed going to class everyday! He is an awesome professor because he knows what he teaches. He gave lots of quizzes (Easy grade) and Homework...Long but VERY easy grade.

Dr. Slovak a great teacher! I have a new astronomy teacher this semester and haven't learned anything. Slovak is really interested in astronomy and in helping you learn. If you go to the review sessions, you will definetely do well.

The first month of this class is awesome.. However, it gets complicated towards the middle and near the end I was totally lost. If I had to do it all over again, i would've just taken the BIOL Lab to complete my Gen Ed's.. Not reccomended.

Slovak is the best teacher I've ever had. Friends of mine have taken astronomy 1101 without Slovak and they said it was boring. But Slovak makes the class fun, entertaining, and easy. Take him.

ASTR is NOT an easy course, but it is most interesting science class I've taken and Slovak was totally awesome!! I highly reccommend Slovak if you want to take this course. His tests are fair, but this class requires WORK if you want the A.
