Anyone will tell you, Captain Kirk is the worst teacher at LSU. You Will skip his class because you will learn nothing from his lectures. Study the book and maybe you will get by his tricky tests! He loves to derive formulas and solutions, Nightmare!

Kirk is a difficult guy to follow. He derived alot. If you do your webassigns, review his notes, and pay attention you will be ok with him. However, if you dont...get ready to get 40's and 30's on you exams (those were VERY common grades).

He is very hard to understand. However, if you do the homework and the webassigns, you'll get A's on the tests. That having been said, good luck. You should DEFINITELY take this class. Do not take 2101 without it.

DO NOT take this class if you tested out of it. I have not heard of a semester grade higher than a C, most people made Ds (these coming from otherwise straight A engineer majors) He still hasn't posted our final grades 2 weeks after the final.

Class would not be bad if it was taught by a half decent teacher. Kirk is worthless. Get a Soution's Guide CD and be prepared to memorize study guides. Thats if he decides to give them.

Dr. Kirk is a genius -- just isnt any good at teaching -- should stick to some sort of research at MIT...LSU physics dept hates him too.....he's extremely hard.

Smart man, bad teacher. He speaks slowly and conveys the material covered in class well. However, half the test comes from material not covered in lecture (ut covered in the book). Take him at your own risk.

Worst teacher I've ever had. Class was nothing but calculus derivations of equations that were on the formula sheet. More of a math class than physics. Had to sit in on another teacher's lectures in order to understand the material. Terrible!

The lectures are not relevant to the tests at all, so make sure to study the homework. Kirk is very smart, but is very difficult, so if you want an easier ride take Giambi's class.

Kirk spends 90% of class showing how equations are derived. If you learn from doing problems in class, do NOT take Kirk. With him, you MIGHT get 1 example problem per week.

This guy is horrible!!! He is so deathly boring, and, frankly, just bizarre. He graduated from MIT and thinks he's far above LSU. The checkpoints were on the test,but get ready to crank out some proofs bc there are NO NUMBERS in the prob section.

This is the worst teacher at LSU! The avg on his tests is a 30! He teaches theorems the entire class period, will but you to sleep and the teaching is useless for the test and homework. Be prepared for living hell if you take this dipshit.
