This class was way too boring and so was the teacher. She chooses her favorites since the first day so, if you're not one of them (like me), prepare yourself to have to put as much effort as you have to do well.

sometimes she doesn't show up for the class or you might not understand her instructions, but in grading she is the best.. so the class is boring but you can get a good grade

Howes changed her mind in the middle of every assignment &left everyone confused; like telling us to drop a paper and then adding it back later. She was the most unclear teacher I've ever had which cost me a 4.0 my first semester. DO NOT TAKE HOWES!

I admit I hated her class at first - she was nothing like high school, so to say. It was actually a very easy class. Best advice to you, write as if you're talking to someone about your topic and you'll get an A. She cancels class a lot too.

As a 4th year Engl major, I've had some of LSU's most respected Engl profs and kept a 4.0 in my major. I'm very disappointed that Howes's poor teaching skills left me confused and cost me my major GPA.

Ms. Howes is a nice lady, but she cannot teach very well. The class is too mathematical for an English class, and her inability to communicate made it more difficult -> ex: She gave us a take home exam that was to take an MINIMUM of 8 hours!
