BRENER N (CSC)

Hey I have a question. I'm taking the CSC 1240 class right now with Brener. I heard from someone that he curves his tests 10%. For example. If you score a 90 on a test, you have a 100 on that test. Is it true? And is he lenient in grading tests?

I have a theory that he's actually a robot and that he's got a for loop programmed for answering questions that we ask and for his lectures. There is indeed verbatim repeating of phrases and a lot of punch drinking. Difficult to stay awake in class, but the easiest class. No book, take notes [verbatim], and go to lab. Though he is a very smart man, his classes are hard to get through.

This class was SOOOO boring. I literally had to pry my eyes open to stay awake in his class. He teaches like an elementary teacher and talks so monotone that after he stops taking attendance no one shows up to class. All the exams are memorizing the code from the labs. So this class is an easy A as long as you go to class and do the labs. Best way to study for the exams is to write down each lab problem over and over till you can recite each line of code.

Easy class, Brenner is a nice guy. He needs a Dasani sponsorship. Loved his class, only class i got an A in this semester. Takes attendance for a while then stops.

Bring your newspaper to class! Easy A, just take notes, go to labs, and memorize programs before exams

Laziest person on earth !! He does everything slowly and manages to make the class more boring than it already is. Nice guy though. Easy class.

Class is so boring and pointless if you get someone to give you the notes. Test are pure memorization of programs. Brener is boring and slow but the class is not hard.

Hes the only teacher for CSC 2533. You dont really have a choice. His exams suck cause you have to memorize C-programs and Matlab-programs that are complicated math equations being solved by writing a program to solve it. Ehh it was whatever class.

Brener looks, sounds, and acts weird but if you re-write the programs that he gives you over and over, memorize every character and phrase, then you will get an A in that class easy. Lab attendance is also necessary but class attendance is flexible.

bullshit coarse! was totally easy for the first 2 exams and the stupid homeworks. however, he never gave out his email and completely screwed us over for the final, tried to use the copy machine last minute and it broke so we ran out of time..asshole

You wont learn anything in this class, but instead youre forced to memorize the assignments to do well on the tests. Not too hard though. Dont buy the book, never even mentioned in class.

Brener is a really nice guy...this class is 95% memorization. Exams are ver very similar to the lab assignments. The ONLY way to get around this class is by MEMORIZING word by word the in-class examples and the assignments given in lab.

Brener is good, but he sometimes just wastes time in class by repeating previous lectures. Willing to help.

I believe Dante described this class when referring to the 7th level. No higher learning in here, just massive memorization. Never had a beating like this class, signed: rented mule, rodney king, redheaded stepchild

Brener is a terrible professor he is supposed to teach the C part on tuesday and the MATLAB version on thursday....but he does get to class on time to do anything but talk about what the program is going to do. he is ALWAYS LATE

This must be the thirstiest man alive, and he repeats himself constantly.

This class is about memorizing code. Working code (on tests) that is not identical to his is not going to get you points.

Boring boring boring

Brener isnt too bad, voice is a bit monotone and tends to put you to sleep but other than that the exams are almost exactly the same as the lab assignments so if you can do those or get those that is all you need to study, or memorize

He is a very boring teacher! At the end of the semester there will be a big curve! If you get at least half of the points possible you will end up with a D but the class is very boring. Brener doesn't laugh or smile. He will help during office hours!

This is the worst person I have ever had instructing a class. I don't use "teacher" because that would imply that he "taught" something. Constantly late, few explainations

Taking with Brener is waste of time plus we dont need this course in curriculan replace it with something useful javascript etc

Really boring stuff for anyone with any programming experience.
