BAUMEISTER A (PSYC)

Baumeister is really nice although hard to understand at times, so sit in the front. Do not vocalize your thoughts unless they warrant being heard: he will make you feel like a moron if you say something stupid/ ask a question he has already addressed, etc. No attendance makes it tempting to skip class but don't. He posts his power points online but in class he tells you ignore 1/4-1/3 of the material on various slides... so if you skip you are going to waste a lot of time studying details you do not even need to know. Do not take this class if you have no biology background and are not interested in the mechanisms of drugs. This is a great psyc class for science minded people.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU DO NOT LIKE BIOLOGY. Baumeister is a terrible lecturer. He mumbles and doesn't face the class sometimes. You have to sit in the front to understand anything. The course material was jibberish to me. You have to memorize thousands of drug names and mechanisms that all sound the same. TAKE SOMETHING ELSE.

Lots of names / terms to memorize, but overall not too difficult. Baumeister was a great professor, very interesting class that I looked forward to attending.

This class was really interesting, and Dr. Baumeister is really nice and easy-going. The course is not easy, however, and alot of studying for each test is required. Dr. B does curve thought so don't be too worried.

tests are difficult, but the class requires very little work, and Dr. B seems to be a cool professor, gives reviews for tests and always lets you out early

BEST CLASS EVER. Dr Baumeister has really put together an awesome class with an excellent textbook and interesting lectures. Seriously, best class ever- take it asap!

Baumeister is pretty bad ass. He is very straightforward, power point during class and you buy the notes so you really don't have to take notes. Take the class if you like psychology and if you need a credit for your major.

He goes through the test the day before, but it doesn't help too much. Go to class & watch the movies. Only a few questions from the book.

First test was really hard but don't worry, it gets easier and the class gets much more interesting as the semester goes on.

Baumeister really cared about the students- he took out-of-class time to help. Really interesting class if you are interested in the evolution of psychiatric medicine.

He's a monotone teacher who turns out the lights and puts people to sleep, but as long as you go to the review session the day before the test you should make an easy A.

Great class, great teacher. Take him even if you don't need the class, it is worth it!

easy A (especially for a premed), drop test, straightforward material, and he gives review sessions that tell you everything you need to know for the exam

He was funny and nice. He only lectured about stuff on the tests. His final is not cumulative, and he gives you a study guide for the 3 tests and final.

Baumeister made the class fun. i would definitely recommend it.

Baumeister is a nice guy and the class is a breeze, he wants you to pass...he curves the tests and the material isn't hard

Not as exciting as I thought. But still ok. Baumeister has his own personality. Not the nicest and sweetest teacher in the world. But still ok. His lectures are extremely boring. But be there on review days cause he'll tell you exactly what to study.

made an A on the first test with lots of studying,...so far it's an interesting class, teachers not that nice but you get over it.

Interesting class and material. Tests aren't that hard but you have to make sure you go to class or you will be in trouble.

This class is really not as cool as you would expect it to be but not bad either. As far as Baumeister the lectures kinda of suck but he explains in detail what to study.
