CHAN J (CHEM)

Dr. Chan is one of the worst and most heartless teachers I've ever had. she takes things so personal like i understand if i fail an assignment that's fine but don't get super mad about it that's not right especially if a student really tried. She is a really cruel person. Her teaching style isn't good either like I can read a PowerPoint i don't need you to stand there and tell me whats on your power point try explaining it. and she's misleading with assignments and points. she says she'll give extra credit when turns out it was just another assignment which means if you didn't do it, it will count against you so it really wasn't extra credit.

This covers material you probably learned in high school, so it wasn't too bad. But for some reason, Chan made things tough. She does powerpoint, and you can print her notes, but she's not very good at teaching. She's not helpful in office hrs.

Chan speaks really fast and zooms thru her lectures. She's energetic and will give a bonus opportunity and quizes/essays.

Dr. Chan is great!!! Just do the homework and go to class because she loves to give in class quizzes. A lot of extra point opprotunities also

She is really off the wall, its hard to keep up with her. 13 or so homewoks due, 3 tests, and a final. She uses a powerpoint and gives you no time to copy, so expect learning strait out of the book.

Excellent teacher and VERY Energetic teacher!

Dr. Chan is a very nice lady who presents the class material in a fun way. She is VERY difficult to follow, tho. I considered chemistry to be one of my better subjects before this class. Homework sucks. Tests are ridiculous. Stay away if possible!

Dr. Chan is a great teacher who clearly explains everything and make sure that her students understood the materials.

She's really nice, but sometimes her tests are weird. She always ends up giving points back on the tests though.

This class is needed in many areas.. but if you can help it STAY CLEAR OF CHAN !!! test are impossible to pass! quizes almost every day

Dr. Chan was a great professor. She cares about the students in her class. She gives a curve at the end of the semester based on attendance, so go to class.

DR. JULIA CHAN WAS A GREAT INSTRUCTOR. SHE IS FULL OF FUNNY LITTLE JOKES THAT HELP YOU STAY AWAKE AND STAY INTRESTED . SHE DEFINETELY LOVES CHEMISTRY AND YOU CAN TELL when you take her classyou need to study on your own and attend after hour help

She bounces off the walls, straying from the topic. The notes are irrelevent to the tests! The only reason you need to attend class is for quizes.

Chem 1201 wouldn't have been such a terrible experience if it weren't for Chan. She is a nice person but her tests are impossible. I study a lot and I had to drop this class because I had an F in the class. AVOID CHAN!!

DO NOT TAKE DR. CHAN; she is very nice, but a HORRIBLE teacher! I studied for almost 14 hours straight before the first exam, and I thought I'd do ok. I got a 45, and the sad thing is that there were 30 people that did worse than me!

Dr. Chan was very energetic and helpful. One of the best chemistry teachers I have ever taken. Exams are a little tuff, but helps you out in the end since she is the one that creates the department final.

this was one of those self teaching classes but you must go to class b/c she gives out loads of quizes that can effect your grade lots

Dr. Chan is awesome!! she really knows her chemistry and tries anything to get her students to learn the material. gives tons of EASY quizzes to pull up grades and test are easy too. Take her if you can.

Dr. Chan is awsome! She truely cares about her students. She loves chemistry and at least wants you, the student, to understand it if not come to love it also. She gives lots of little 5 point quizes that really help your grade!

If you go to class and show effort, you are gonna get an A or B. She knows who's there and who's not. At the end of the semester, she'll help you out big time if you go to class.

It was an okay class. Just make sure you go to every class cause if you miss one you get so behind. Chan tried her best to make the class as interesting as possible, but her jokes sucked though.

Great teacher...very open and wanting to help. Test are sometimes difficult but not to bad.

Dr. Chan was very entertaining trying to keep everyone awake in a 7:30 am class with jokes and demonstrations.

Dr. Chan is a very engaging lecturer; however,no real support outside of class and no curve on exams where the highest class scores were only 50%. Someone should look at this. 5 hrs or more a day for study!!!!

Professor Chan is very energetic, although she does tend to drift off of the subject very easily. All in all, she is a good teacher. My suggestion go to class everyday, she gives pop quizzes a lot!!!!!

Just read the text book and you will get an A in this class. The tests are really easy.
