ROSS S (HIST)

This was my first history to take. i enjoyed it a lot. i made an A and the test really arent that hard. Ross is very interesting and entertaining. He also gives you a review of the test and what is on there is all you have to know for the exam. If you have to take a history i advise you take this with Ross!

Ross is fairly easy. If you like history you'll do fine. If you dont it should only take a few hours each week of reviewing to get an A. His tests are essay plus short answer, so you need to know most of what yall covered that unit, if you make it evident that you read the book, hell grade your essays well. If you just put a little bit of consistant effort into this class you should get an A or a high B if you really dont like history.

Western Civilization itself is hard to deal with, but Ross made it a little bearable. He's a nice guy and gives a lot of opportunities for you to do well (quizes, etc.) Lectures are dry, but I didn't mind it.

Very dry and is a tad difficult to stay awake in class; however, Ross provides outlines, and his tests are both essay and multiple choice--the MC questions come from the textbook website. Bonus for attending class.

Unless you like history, this class is pretty boring. It's all pretty old material, and it's just a lecture class. The exams are mostly essay, which is absolutely retarded because you barely get tested on any of the material you learn. Take notes!!

Expect essay exams!

Ross is a good teacher for this class. It is a hard class in general, it requires a lot of studying, but he does give you an extensive study guide, which was extremely helpful! Take Ross!

The class is interesting, and Ross is a decent teacher. His lectures don't really follow the power point, but you still get plenty out of it. Make sure you buy the book for the cd-rom he uses. The only downer is his that his TA grades SO hard!

Solid teacher. Spent good amount of time on material and taught it well. Gives two map quizzes (easy A) and two exams with essays. Not difficult unless you skip class; gives bonus for going. No homework!

PowerPoint slide not detailed, you have to go to class to take notes from lecture; he didn't use the textbook much, only used it for the 2 map quizzes; attendance as bonus

Ross was an ok guy, but he was fascinated by the material. He gives you the essays before the test, but they're really long, so be prepared to cram. You have to go to class too, he sometimes gives bonus and his lectures are in the essay questions.

Ross is boring. He grades tests hard. He teaches because he has to. It's not for the money, but because it's required for him to do research. And the class, skims the surface of everything. You don't really learn anything.

I really enjoyed this class, and Dr. Ross was very funny and laidback. The class was a challenge, and the tests were essay, but they were easy.

Easy Easy Easy!!! Dr. Ross is kinda boring but the class is a breeze!! Just like world history in high school.

Ross kicks ass, quizzes are rediculously easy and he gives you the essay questions before the test so you know what you have to answer. Probably the best teacher i've had so far.

Dr. Ross is such a great teacher. He's really nice and really cares about his students. TAKE HIM!!!!!!

The quizzes really really help your grade because they are so easy. Just skim the readings and fill in the blanks! He gives 3 essays, and has reviews and usually eliminates a question.

Essay tests are graded very hard but quizes being 40% of your grade makes up for it. Take Ross if you are one of those ppl who don't miss class

Ross was really cool and cared abt the student. Definitely take this class if you're into Rome, Greece, etc.A bit tough on grading, but show up to class every day and its an easy A. He has outlines and little quizzes which help! A lot!

Ross is interesting and he gives quizes that are worth 45% of the grade... they are so easy

This is no easy A. They are all Essay tests, and you have to know your stuff to do well. There are a bunch of easy quizzes that boost your grade, which is good. Not a very interesting class, but not boring. Ross acts like a pro.

45% of grade is source quizzes-I only used textbook for these; your tests are essay & ids & he give you the possible essays beforehand. ross is great. as long as you go to every class & take good notes, it's an easy A. I only studied a few hrs/test

Dr. Ross is an excellent teacher, I would recommend him to anyone. I would continue to take history classes just to have him as a teacher.

S Ross is a really friendly teacher. You can tell he loves what he teaches. He gives easy quizes to bring up grades.

Ross is boring and offensive. Lectures don't add up with the book. He only gives blue book tests, and if you don't write what he's looking for, you're out of luck. He gives a quiz a week. They aren't bad.

Easy class if you go to class, you spend virutually no time outside of class studying. He was a good professor and he was very fair with helping you out if the TA did something dumb(I had a personal experience that moved my grade up from a B to an A)

His test are ID'S and essays. He doesn't curve and he grades hard.

DO ALL SOURCE-QUIZ READINGS!!! You can get by w/o the text BUT only if you take excellent notes; He's nice and understandable

This class was very interesting. Plus Map Quizes are a "gift".

The tests are all essay......not good.

This class was boring, the teacher was monotone, the exam material had little or nothing to do with what we learned in class, and the only possible way to obtain an A on an exam was to study for hours on end.

I liked Mr. Ross. For this class you have to take notes and I read over them twice the night before the exam and ended up with a B.
