Kurtz isn't bad. Probably not the best prof. to take. But lectures are worthless anyway. Go to recitation. Practicing the problems is what will get you an A in the class.

He just reads the lecture slides which are posted on Webassign. There are in class clicker quizzes which doesnt do anything for ur grade. Recitation and HW is what kept my grade up.

The only bad thing about Kurtz was that he didn't work enough practice problems in class so when you did the webassign alot of the time you were completely clueless. His tests were very fair though and he always gave nice curves.

Don't get me wrong, Dr. Kurtz is a really nice guy who cares about his students. He just doesn't convey the information really well. This class is HARD and requires A LOT of outside work. Cool class demonstrations.

He is more worried about his research than his students and he will inform you of this. He reads notes off the board. No examples are worked in class. Gives homework that is not in any way related to what you need to know for the tests.

Physics is just a difficult class. I don't like it, but it is required. Kurtz is very generous with the curving. You do have to study a lot.

Kurtz doesn't really teach anything,just reads off notes. Recitation classes are pointless cause foreign instructors can't help you.Tests suck cause you never had enough time (20 ?'s in 50mins) Avoid if u can.

this class sucks. kurtz just reads off the power point slides (which are online) and he gives pointless in-class quizzes almost every day. get out while you can.

Thw worst teacher I have ever had at LSU. I worked my ass of in tutoring and his office to get an A. Exams were rediculously hard! Be prepared to dedicate you life to this class!

Kutz was really interested in Physics, and he really desired to help everyone learn it. If you actually study and visit him, you could probably get an A or B in the class.
