LOTTEN S (SPAN)

I have never reviewed a teacher at LSU, going into my 8 semester now, and this man has made me review one. I have never ever hated a teacher anymore in my entire life as much as I hate this so called "teacher". He never ever had anything graded on time, causing everything to be pushed back and grades to be late. He got so far behind on his work that he assigned us homework for the last three days of finals week. I never want to take another language class at LSU because of this man. He takes off points for random things and when you ask him about it, he will make up some random answer as to why he thinks it is wrong. LSU would be a better place without Sheldon Lotten. period.

Lotten must think that you are taking his class and his class only at any given time. He thinks nothing to assign a quiz, 4 homeworks, and an oral exam all during midterms week. Also, he only speaks Spanish during class and e-mails!

Lotten is actually not that bad of a professor. You will learn alot, but you will have to work for it and be on top of the material.

i hate spanish, it makes my life a living hell, and i took lotten and i am failing, if you are not good in spanish do not take him, although he is willing to help you and very approachable about helping your grade, but hard!! nobody has an A .

Although Lotten is friendly and generally helpful, he forces you to work in pairs every day, he has a lispy Spain Spanish accent that is difficult to understand, and I found it nearly impossible to get an A in his class.

Unless you KNOW spanish, don't take Lotten. He speaks spanish the entire time he's TEACHING it to you. Nervous laugh that will drive you insane and his peppy personality will drive you insane as well. Graded so you can't get over a C or D! Dont take

He is perpetually happy and can be annoying. Grades to hard on tests and quizzes and doesn't give enough notes.

This class was totally worth the time and effort required.

Lotten is very energetic and outwardly nice, but he offers no assistance, his exams and quizzes are extrememly difficult, and in comparison to other Spanish instructors, he's the hardest/worst.

Lotten is nice, but very very very strict grader, not very fair to students, don't take him if have choice.

BIG MISTAKE almost everyone in my class is failing including me and i speak spanish. HE SUCKS

He was really, really happy about life. He was also a wonderful teacher.

Lotten is an excellent Spanish speaker, but a horrible teacher. Don't expect him to explain anything in class, he'll just say, "read the green pages."

Whatever bad thing you heard about Lotten- believe it. I think he makes this class harder than it really needs to be. If you don't have to take another Spanish, FIND ANOTHER TEACHER for this class

Up until finals I would've said Lotten was awesome and ppl didn't give him enough credit. However, after having an A in this class the whole semester and making A's on nearly every exam, I discovered my final grade was a B. So I can't say I'm happy.

Lotten is a good teacher, but very hard. don't expect to get an A without studying for 3 hours before a test or quiz.

He is the worst f_cking teacher I've had. He will look you in the eye, smile, and tell you, "you have failed." He tricks students by acting very friendly but he is, in fact, ruthless. He takes off for minor mistakes.

Lotten isn't a bad guy but he doesn't cut corners and he is never going to miss class. If your grade is close at the end and you've attended class, he'll round up for you.

Lotten is great, but you can't always tell what he'll take points off for.

Lotten's quizzes are hard and half the class fails them so thank God the exams are departmental.

Senor Lotten is great; he is energetic and passionate about what he teaches. Take his class!

I would not recommend taking Lotten for 1102. My class dropped from 32 people to 13 and everyone is still failing!

Lotten is really wierd. He talks like a recording and his facial expression never changes. I think this man is on drugs.
